We can't open the week without some speculation, now can we? Today we hear of the latest batch of rumors from UK's OPM publication. Though this batch of rumors come from the Official PlayStation Magazine, they do touch on some cross-platform franchises. (EA, I'm looking at you!).
  • Developers are already working on PSP2 games which is tentatively scheduled for released in 2010
  • A PSP version of Motorstorm is in the works and may release this year
  • Square Enix will unveil a ‘Different from FF’ MMO at E3
  • Monolith is already working on F.E.A.R 3
  • Tetsuya Mizuguchi is looking to make a sequel to Rez
  • EA is holding an auction in which NFL players can bid to be on the front cover of Madden 2010
  • Lego Harry Potter is on the way
I for one know that the Mizuguchi rumor is confirmed. Supposedly, the Rez sequel is called QJ. And then there's that bit about MotorStorm PSP - already leaked during the Sony staff meeting in London. And of course, there's Lego Potter, which Traveller's Tales has neither confirmed nor denied yet.

Now about that PSP 2... Well, a previous rumor said a PSP-4000 was supposed to roll out this year, with the PSP 2 following "later." That's, of course, until John Koller himself stepped in and said these rumors were unfounded. Whatever the case, the rumor here doesn't concern itself about the release date, but as it suggests, developers are apparently already making games for it - whenever it's coming out.

» That game was suppose to come out during launch

Remember the pictures of the PSP when it was about to hit launch date? Well that game never came out.

I highly doubt a PSP2 right now or next year.

Isn't a PSP motorstorm already confirmed?

Who cares about Squares MMO!?

The hell with fear3 - also, my dog could of told you that.

"Developers are already working on PSP2 games which is tentatively scheduled for released in 2010"

I wonder how long it'll take to crack this time? ;)

"A PSP version of Motorstorm is in the works and may release this year"

You know a platform is dead when this is 'news'

"Square Enix will unveil a ‘Different from FF’ MMO at E3"

And this has what to do with the PSP...?

"Monolith is already working on F.E.A.R 3"

Which won't be on the PSP so why is it here?

"Tetsuya Mizuguchi is looking to make a sequel to Rez
EA is holding an auction in which NFL players can bid to be on the front cover of Madden 2010"

Will this be on the PSP? wtf is this doing here?

"Lego Harry Potter is on the way"

Yet another cheap cash in on the lego theme....

C'mon guys, let's stick to content that we can actually verify and maybe is even related to the PSP?

So sick of these 'filler' articles which are just bull***** and not even related to the PSP at all...

 » ugh, you're dumb

this article isn't just on the psp site

Re: Mabie A. (QJ. NET Staff) - 2009-01-19
 » actually...

this is not a "filler" post. this is what we call a "multiplatform" post because the items in the rumors concern the various gaming platforms we have.

nice collection of rumors there...

if a psp2 does indeed see the light of day, it better be backwards compatible... and it should have games on memory sticks... with an app for the psp to tranfer existing UMDs to memory stick. not hard to do at all and critical for me to be interested...

my only interest in motorstorm died when the graphics didn't even come close to the target renders showed off at that E3 long ago... so a psp version is of no interest to me.

the only other thing i have any opinion on would be lego harry potter... and to this i say bring it on :)

The PSP2 isn't coming out next year. Sony already said the PSP had a long life like the PS2 (even though it isn't showing at all) but yeah. I doubt they'd release a PSP-3000 one year then just release the next system itself 2 years later. Even if it is true...then wow I guess.

Lego Harry Potter seems plausible. We already have 50 other Lego games so why not?

FEAR 3 is in development. Monolith said in an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine that the series will be a trilogy.

On a side note, did you guys block me from sending tips or something? Every time I try to send some actual good news, I get three error emails sent back to my inbox saying something like your server doesn't "like" my IP address or recipent.

   Re: rollypoly - 2009-01-19
 » not so fast...

ps2 slim: 2004
ps3: 2006

there is precedent for sony releasing a redesign and a sequel 2 years later... this may have been because of pressure from m$ and nintendo, but it's not unheard of.

   Re: Galduke - 2009-01-20
 » But rollypoly...

That was a very different situation. The PS2 had just barely started to rake in a real profit and was still selling well, whereas the PSP is still well under what Sony must believe is it's full potential.

Theirs no way that Madden rumor is true, Why would someone pay to have the madden curse on them and end their career?
