Brutal Legend - Image 1The rumor about a Wii version of Electronic Arts' Brutal Legend has been going around for quite some time now. But even though we never really got a confirmation or denial from EA regarding this, we are now confronted with the rumor that the game's already been canned.

Destructoid reports that accoding to their sources, EA really was working on Brutal Legend for the Wii, although it wasn't Double Fine taking in the reins of this particular project. Back up a little. Did you notice that italicized little word back there? "Was". That's right. Past tense.

It is now said that the project will no longer push through because it's been "canceled due to quality and technical concerns." As for the assurance testers who were supposedly hired for the job - they've been let go seeing as how their services are no longer needed for a halted project.

And amidst all this, we have EA, still sitting quietly in the corner, not saying a word about the alleged Wii version of Brutal Legend and its supposed subsequent canning.

Brutal Legend is coming out on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 in October.

Even if it was a kids game. The name Brutal in the title would have killed sales on the kid system.

ah! Brutal Legends must be too brutal for the Wii.
Why is it not coming to PC?

if the rumor is true, EA lost a great opportunity. I mean, why NOT release a version for the wii? Doesn't make sense. Even if it didn't sell as much as on the versions for 360 and ps3 it still would've made them money.

Besides, Wii needs some good games anyway.

Its more about the time it takes to recover development costs. Brutal Legend would sell a few copies on the Wii, and hell after being out a year or two it might actually break 250k sales.
