Just a few days ago, we gave you the final roster of Wii launch titles which boasts of 20 games, including Wii Sports, which will come bundled with the console.Don't worry, we're not here to report that some of those titles have been pushed back (god forbid!). In fact, we're gonna add two more to that already massive list of launch titles! As an update to that list we gave you earlier, Need for Speed: Carbon (DS, Xbox360, PS3, Wii, PC) will also be available at launch! Or at least that's what ShackNews reports. They also say that Rapala Tournament Fishing will also be joining that massive list of launch titles. However, Wii users are gonna have to wait 'til late this month or early December to get their hands on other great Wii games like Elebits, Metal Slug Anthology (Wii, PSP), Super Swing Golf, and others. You can expect tons of Wii info to come pouring in today so stay tuned for more updates. |

Activision announced today that their launch games for both the Wii and PS3 have shipped to retail stores nationwide and are already up for grabs. The following games from the company's lineup are now in stores:
Yeah, we know, these games would mean absolutely nothing without the consoles, but wouldn't you want to get a head start before everyone starts flocking to stores for these games? And for the lucky few who already have their Wii's and PS3's, go grab these games now! (Or maybe after you're done drooling over your beautiful consoles...?) |

Rapala Tournament Fishing is probably one of the few underestimated titles for Wii. Being the first true Wii fishing simulation game, not to mention it being a launch title, Rapala is not quite getting the recognition it deserves. This is not to say developer Magic Wand did a poor job and publisher Activision is focusing on "bigger" titles. A possible reason for this is fans dismissing it easily, thinking it's just an ordinary fishing game.
Actually, given enough attention, there's more to it than meets the eye. PC gamers well know this as they've been treated to the Rapala experience two years ago with Rapala Pro Fishing and several Cabela games as well. The Wii version, most obviously, will be using the revolutionary combination of Wiimote and Nunchuk. The first one serves as the fishing rod while the latter will be used as the reel. Aside from basic line casting, players will be doing other techniques such as wiggling the bait, setting the hook and adjusting the tension. Over 300 lures are included in the game, with multiple rods and fishing line. Also, there would be a total of 6 Ranger and Lund boats that will be featured in the game. Steering, accordingly, will be done by turning the Wiimote on its side. Activision also promised they would utilized the speaker and vibration features of the console for a more realistic feel. Activision is also proud of its fishing A.I., saying the 16 different levels on the game are based on real-life locations and are host to real-life marine species. Rapala Tournament Fishing, when it debuts together with console, will cost U.S $ 39.99. |
