Pong on the Wii - Image 1The video game that got millions of gamers into the hobby for the first time, Pong, now spearheads homebrew on the Nintendo Wii. Through the Twilight Hack which exploits The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess game by buffer overflow, homebrew developer Auby was able to run a Pong game on Ninty's console.

The link below leads to a video which shows how to boot the Pong ELF file by running Twilight Princess. According to Auby, it is now possible to run ELF files from an SD card inserted in the GC card slot. Keep in mind that it's a work in progress, so future updates are bound to come.

As of now, controls aren't sorted out. Auby noted that it's just an old Pong demo written for the GameCube. Whether it will actually be playable is still up in the air, but a release of this Pong is expected soon. We're sure to keep tabs on Wii homebrew activity, so watch this space!

Awesome news!

Hopefully someone starts working on a memory hack app, i.e. Action Replay.

Bring on the fun!
