Ah. Right on time! Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End just docked its merry butt onto retail shelves today - that's all platforms of the game released: PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PSP, and NDS. Gawsh, what a mouthful. Aside from the fact that it's being released across all major consoles and handhelds, you won't have any problems finding a copy of the game. The press release from Disney Interactive states that they've shipped over 2.8 million copies worldwide. Sheeesh.

But maybe you're wondering what's the difference between the different versions. Let's take a walk down the plank, shall we? We'll keep it simple: the PS3 gets SIXAXIS support, Achievements abound in the 360 version, the Wii makes use of the Wiimote and Nunchuk, the PSP allows you to use a different set of moves and combos, and the DS makes the most out of touchpad and stylus interaction.

Now of course, this are just the bare minimal of differences - hell, you can transplant those to other multiplatform game releases. It's natural for a publisher to make the most use out of the different platforms, and make sure to add some exclusive content and features in their games various releases.

 » Hmm.

Well, it'll probably be another horrible movie game, but here's to hoping not.

 » Yep.

Yeah, this is going to suck ass. The movie will be great, but as for the game it'll blow. If you say "I don't understand why they do this" it's because it makes money off the stupid people that'd actually buy this crap.

Actually i like the demo. It's no Assassin's Creed but it's actually a very good movie like experience. The graphics are amazing and control scheme isn't bad either. i have only played the first level of the game but it had me hanging for more.

Give the game a chance before you pass judgment.

 » Not good.

The first one I bought was defunct and could not play cinematic audio. From what I saw the game looked, "Pretty" and incorporates grandeur visuals whilst playing. Going back to Best Buy and returning to get another to see if this was a problem with my PS3 or not, it just happened to be the disc...Go figure. However, going back to the game, as you move you seem to find that you have 2 base killing moves for Jack and the gang. That all equate to an easy game and a simple platformer. A frustrating camera and lack luster story mixed with a lame generic, "Collect the crap out of stuff to progress and get a lame rank!" Very Linear play and horridly jagged (on the PS3 at least) graphics is just a bad time to be had. However, in light of all this, the sound alike voice actors do the real actors justice, even down to the small voice actors. But when going out of Cinema to the real-time, you find a chugging piece of...Junk. It's not worth the buy, but a good rental should fill your pirate needs for now. Sorry mates.

Leave it to disney to milk a decent suprise hit movie into a trilogy with crappy licensed game to go with each.
