Stats say more people like the WiiHmmm... it seems that the Wii has gotten quite popular nowadays. In fact, people have been smitten by it so much that they prefer it over Sony's lean machine, the PS3.

American Technology Research analyst P.J. McNealy says that Nintendo's Wii launch was a bit better than people expected, while the PS3 launch turned out to be quite a disappointment. Even New Media Strategies (that's a research firm, mind you) claims that "many" have opted to switch to Wii, instead of getting the PS3. If ya want numbers to back it up, the said research firm says that "about 49% of online discussions were favorable to Wii, compared with 27% for PS3."

They also cited some testimonials from impressed Wii customers:

The Wii, says Bryan Clute, 26, of Silverdale, Wash., rates an A because the new remote-shaped wireless controller is "something I haven't been able to experience before. Clute, who waited in line at a GameStop store to reserve a system, says, "It was well worth it."David Nieves, 26, of Philadelphia gives the Wii an A-. "Nintendo has definitely gotten it right."

Sony: Hay guys! let's cut production by 2/3 to increase demand.

Thank you for the comment, but that's a rather useless comment, I'd prefer if you added something or didn't post it at all :)

» If anyone believes that, they probably got an F in Econ class.

Cutting production does not directly effect demand. Instead, it increases prices. And guess what: increasing prices actually lower demand.
Aside from economics, they didn't willfully cut production; they ran out of diodes to make the Blu-ray drives. All I can say is, "Prior planning prevents piss-poor performance."

posers? what are you, 9? nintendo is the company that saved gaming, not with graphics, but gameplay.

i love how you explain why you think the wii is gay and that nintendo are "posers".

and in complete sentences too.

 » Kinda short?

For such a broad, generalized title to an article, you'd think there would be more information about PS3 and better comparisons than whether online discussions were favorable to one or the other.
That just proves that online-discussers love the Wii more than the PS3.
And a couple quotes from Wii customers are -probably- biased toward the Wii. Anyway, I think the title is most likely correct, but more research would definitely prove it better than a stub of an article like this.

 » You know f@@k all

Lest i be mistaken idiots like you said the same thing about the gamecube, look where that went it is crap, just like the wii, i owned a wii i got rid of it the following week, the gameplay is for kids, the gameplay isn't all that great. For the adult gamer it has alienated them a little and directed there console at kids the ages 12-. You throw punches at sony and for what, because there console has not fully launched yet, by march of next year the ps3 will be in full production, then people like you will know what it means when the ps3 sales take over that of the wii. This quote taken from a news reporter, the framerate of the wii and graphics are that of last generation and it not a good thing, over all the wii is pretty disapointing the only thing what has changed between this console and the last is the motion censor and ability to download previous generation games at a cost. That won't be enough to keep people intrested in the wii, the wii is a gimic and a poor one at that.

 » Yup

I was pro-Wii from the start, but a heck of a lot of my friends who were rabid about the PS3 couldn't get one, and so they got Wii's. And never looked back.

» I have both Systems and my personal opinion is

Wii is a huge gimmic with the controller, its fun.. but shouldn't sell a system. It's underpowered and too simple.. at least to hold me over. I will admit I've been playing more Zelda then I've been using my PS3... but I've been playing more FFXII then both so lol. My biggest complains about Wii is the system itself being such old technology and underpowered... along with IMO the poor OS it has on it. Buggy, and I dont want to have to enter a 16 diget number to add buddies lol. Also, no network cable hook up? Wireless only??? WTF! I have wireless but thats just stupid. Still, Zelda >> Resistance, although both are fun.... so I guess... PS3 as a system is way way better then Wii, but right now Wii's best games own PS3's best games. Oh and Nintendo's online store sucks compared to PS3's right now.. no free demo's or trailers... come on....

Are you stupid? The consoles are made for kids. -.- But even grown ups can play the Wii. Sucha dumb ass. We allredy see that ps3 is going down. Like NOONE wants it. Only the sony fanboyz -.- Wii is is Cheap, fun, the games pwns sonys ass sooo much and has great new technology. NOONE gives a f**k about the graphics LMFAO. PS3 games are for the gaming geeks (ugh -.-) Wii for normal people!

Don't waste your money on a ugly, extream expensive and sucky sucky games for $600.

Get Wii like the others. Get a sexy, new technology, cool console and sweet games for $250.

I know one guy that wanted the ps3 very much. But now, his going to get a Wii and spit on the ps3.

:D

How could this article be wrong? Like allmost all people wants the Wii. It has beated the hell out ps3 of selling the consoles.

If you want to play ps3 games, get a ps2. Its the same without the will-never-be-used-sucks-bluray. -.-

The Wii graphic is very good. Who gives a ***** about the graphic anyway? :/

All I just wanted to say that ps3 sucks compared to a Wii.

I must get a Wii

I'd rather get a Wii, and a 360. THan a PS3. It'd cost about the same. You would get a very cool console with awesome gameplay and good games, and a console with good graphics (Some people care about that crap) with good games. Or, you could get an 11 lb PS2, with better graphics and a useless Blu-Ray. I think the choice is obvious, but if you want to blow $600 on either deal, go ahead. Im just gonna get a laptop instead.

 » Wii-Love it!!

Nintendo has always gotten it right, ever since the 80's,Nintendo had better games than the rest, better gameplay than whatever there was out there...And now that we have witnessed a true innovative machine, that has once again proven Who Nintendo is,there will not be a contender...Nintendo will stand tall over the "Crapstation 3" which has the same graphical power as the xbox 360,but with a heftier price tag....So as for all of you that preffer to buy a "Crapstation 3" be my guest, you'll just be paying to play the same playstation 2 games with flashier graphics.LOL
NINTENDO 4LIFE!!!!!
