No kidding, they sure made up for that drought the past how many weeks. And no, we don't mean just random Dream Series titles for the DS. We're talking real games here! Okay, wanna bet? Try Class of Heroes for the PSP, or the multiplatformer Prototype. You want lots of music? Take your pick from among Guitar Hero on Tour: Modern Hits, Rock Band: Unplugged and Classic Track Pack. How about sports? You're in the mood for some sporty action? We have golf, tennis, racing, pool. Take your pick. It's gonna be a loooooooooong list, so dive in right now for our On Shelves This Week of June 7 to 13, 2009. Trust me, it's been a while since I saw a hefty 26 titles in one week. Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled - Come to the world of Bel Lenora, a place where people are born with magic. This is the setting of Graffiti Entertainment's RPG for the DS, where you, as a magic-less character walks through the land of magic, much to the wariness of Bel Lenora's citizenry. Class of Heroes - This is by no means your ordinary school. Particus Academy aim to equip young men and women with the proper tools to become full-fledged adventurers. Learn about bravery, spellcraft, swordplay, avoiding death - really, it's the course that I should have taken when I was in school.
Dreamer: Teacher - Some girls want to grow up to be beauty queens, while some dream of being a teacher. This ought to be a nice first step in that direction as DreamCatcher Interactive offers you a title that will allow you to step into the shoes of a classroom teacher, and guide students to learn how to play a musical instrument, dance, or draw and paint.
Diva Girls: Divas on Ice - Be not just a diva, but a diva on ice! Kelly, Madison, Alyssa and Gabrielle are back fresh from their win in the Miracle Ice Festival, but they're definitely not done showing off their graceful skills on the ice rink. With your help, can you impress the judges and keep the crown for Princess on Ice?
EA Sports: Grand Slam Tennis - It's the Tennis Competition to be in as EA has lined up 23 players for you to compete as and against, including John McEnroe!
Fish'em All - Go on a fishing trip either alone or with friends, and beat your own high scores in the many challenges and puzzles that will come your way. With nine colorful scenarios, you can opt to play in Arcade, Challenge, or Fishtris modes.
Go Play Circus Star - With the help of the Wii Balance Board, you can enjoy walking on a tightrope, or ride on the backs of elephants as you perform with the greatest of the circus performers. Before long, you'll be doing stunts on your own, such as the Flying Trapeze, Big Cat Taming, Pony Dancing, Mile-High Stunt Driver, Knife Throwing and more.
Go Play Lumberjacks - Lumberjack contests are cool, too. If you're in doubt, then try Go Play Lumberjacks where you enter the Lumberjacks contest. Participate in a variety of competitions, such s the Log Roll, the Pole Climb and more. Not for sissies, definitely.
Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits - More rockin' and rollin' good times are coming with GHoT: Modern Hits. Rock out to the tunes of Fallout Boy, Tenacious D., Coldplay, Weezer, and more, and enjoy the newly-included "Fan Request" feature, where you can win a new fan and unlock new challenges. Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings - This is as hardcore an adventure as it gets this week, with the famed treasure hunter Indy Jones taking a leap across multiple platforms. Set in 1939, you set out to find the Staff of Kings, the one used by Moses himself to part the Red Sea. Apparently, and of course, you are not the only one interested in getting it, so you must beat everyone else to it.
Legendary Starfy, The - The other famous starfish apart from Patrick, The Legendary Starfy presents the wonderful underwater world of adventure. As Starfy, the legendary hero of Pufftop, you must get to the end of each stage unscathed, defeating comical enemies and big bosses. Stun them by swooping down on them like a shooting star, and help a mysterious bunny-eared visitor regain his lost memory.
LEGO: Battles - Gear up cos it's gonna be a tough battle for you ahead in LEGO: Battles as it is based on three classic LEGO play: Castle, Pirates and Space. It features a new build and battle gameplay through six distinct story lines. There are over 70 different levels to wage your battles on, so pick them nice and win them all.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! - The classic brawl is on again, and this time, it supports downloadable content features.
Miami Law - Sounds like a TV-action game, right? Well it is, kinda. Minus the TV watching part. Miami Law offers you an action-adventure game packed where you play as iether Law Martin from the Miami PD or Sara Starling from the FBI. Do you wanna go fed or local?
MySims Racing - It's a fun race to the end as you play with or against your friends in this Simlish racing adventure. A huge variety of exotic tracks await you, so keep your eyes peeled cos there are a lot of cool power-ups waiting to be picked up by you. Beat your friends to the punch, and you're as good as set in crossing that finish line first. Petz Fashion: Dogz and Catz - Wanna be a fashion stylist for pets? Then this one's for you. Petz Fashion: Dogz and Catz allow you to enter into the world of fashionista felines and canines, as you dress the up and develop a strong stylist-client relationship with them. If you dress them up nice enough, you can even enter them in fashion contests, and later on even become a posh pet clothing designer.
Pool Hall Pro - If you want to try a new sport that does not require a lot of walking and huffing and puffing, then you might as well check out Pool. But Pool Hall Pro is not necessarily a walk in the park either as you face the toughest opponents there are in Pool. Features include tournaments set in exotic locations, variety of game modes (Arcade, Tournament or Exhibition).
Prototype - Finally, the genetically mutated shapeshifter Alex Mercer is out and about. He has no memory of his past, and this is what drives him to move forward, despite the many obstacles that face him in his parkour-style journey across the hustling and bustling city of New York.
Puzzle City - Another treat for puzzle game lovers out there. Described to me a mixture between a simulation and a puzzle game, players take on the role of the leader of a building crew, and is tasked to construct houses, malls, schools, etc. Use the correct puzzle shaped blocks to build that architectural masterpiece.
Reel Fishing: Angler's Dream - Want to catch some fish but don't want to go out? Then get Reel Fishing: Angler's Dream for the Wii. It features a 3D fishing engine, lifelike fish and soothing environmental sounds. A trip sure to be worth it, even without the trip.
Rock Band Track Pack: Classic Pack - The Track Pack: Classic Pack may sound intimidating, but it's actually not. Rock Band aficionados are sure to enjoy this offering from the RB franchise, as it gives you a 20-song pack featuring an outstanding mix of your fave classic rock hits. To name a few: The Who, Rush, Boston and Police.
Rock Band: Unplugged - Another day, another Rock Band on the loose. But you can make it uniquely your own as Unplugged offers you full access to DLC via the in-game store, apart from enjoying the show via WiFi.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 - Tiger the golfer is in the house -- in his many, multiplatform houses, can I just say. And this iteration in the PGA Tour franchise brings you something entirely new. For the first time, you can take on of the toughest challenges in gold, the US Open at Bethpage Black. Are you up to par?
Vertigo - It's a "high-rolling, adrenalin-fuelled combination of futuristic drag racing, puzzle solving and precision control." As a member of the most Elite Xorb racing corp. in the galaxy (you are aptly called Xorber), you will run across 54 landscapes, set in 9 different worlds, all with death-defying obstacles.
Virtua Tennis 2009 - Another sports title coming out this week, this time from Sega. Like other Tennis video game titles, this one lets you compete against the world's top tennis players. Features include: 40 vibrant court environments, single, multiplayer, and online modes.
You Can Draw - Is described as a Productivity game for the Nintendo DS. As the title implies, we assume it teaches you - and thereby - offers you an application where you can draw.
