After several months of keeping mum (or when they do talk, it's just for denial) on the persistent Okami Wii rumor, Capcom has finally confirmed that the celebrated PS2 title will indeed be heading over to Nintendo's next-gen console.

The puzzle/action title is just bound to get better, what with its compatible controls to that of the Wii's. It's exciting to imagine what can be done with the Wiimote when used on Amaterasu's Celestial Brush, that paintbrush used in the game's combats and puzzle-solving stages. Of course, it doesn't hurt either that it's got a riveting narrative that is fully reminiscent of ancient Japanese folklore.

The confirmation was made by Capcom to a London audience this week. Okami is said to be coming to the Wii by Spring 2008. We'll be sure to give you more dibs on this as they come.
