Namco Bandai announces the Wii version of the Nodame Cantabile orchestra rhythm sim - Image 1Shigeru Miyamoto, the big wig behind the Nintendo brand name, gave a teaser of Wii Music (or Wii Orchestra as some people know it) way back during the E3 in 2006. Ever since then, there's been little word of the musical orchestra rhythm sim.

However, Namco Bandai is willing to provide a fix for any aspiring gamer slash conductor out there with its Wii version of Nodame Cantabile: Dream Orchestra.

Based on the popular manga by Tomoko Ninomiya, the Nodame Cantabile game puts you in control of an aspiring conductor out to prove himself by leading an off-beat orchestra band into creating a musical masterpiece worthy of their rather unique maestro.

The game originally came out on the Nintendo DS last April and makes use of the stylus to hit off the proper timing of notes and musical instruments. The new Wii version of the game will be similar in nature, where you play the budding conductor while orchestrating the band with the use of the Wiimote.

The game will feature 50 songs as well as a new story mode with cutscenes to play through. Players in Japan can expect the game to reach them by December 27. While Wii Music is still in the works, those musically inclined gamers can satisfy themselves with Nodame Cantabile with its many musical antics.
