No More Heroes - Image 1

A bit of bad news for Nintendo Wii owners in Europe: No More Heroes, Suda 51's upcoming cel-shaded epic of lightsaber-related violence, will be making its way to your store shelves with the blood and gore cut out.

That's right, readers - the European version of Marvelous Interactive's No More Heroes will be censored, having the same edits as the Japanese version that was released a few weeks ago. This pretty much means that whenever you strike down an enemy with Travis Touchdown's lightsaber, he or she will disappear in a puff of black...something, instead of being dismembered in a bloody mess. Boo!

This news comes directly from Rising Star Games, the publishing firm responsible for bringing the game over to Europe. Their official statement regarding the censorship, as given by the company's managing director Martin Defries:

We're publishing the same version of No More Heroes that has been successfully received in Japan.

Ultimately, it's a fantastic game to play and that's all we care about at Rising Games.

Well, that settles it, then - chalk up another title being hit with the angry censorship stick. Here's hoping, then, that the U.S. version won't meet the same fate. What say you, though, readers, about this entire affair? Let us know by your comments.
