wii error

Were you lucky enuff to get your hands on a Wii but unlucky enuff to have it bricked shortly after you got it out of is box? Apparently, for some Wii owners updating their console's system firmware caused the following message:

Error Code: 110213 There is a problem with the WiiConnect24 service. Please try again later.

But like the good company that it is, Nintendo of America isn't dragging its corporate feet on the issue. Instead the company said it will replace bricked consoles. The affected consoles will be replaced within 3 to 4 business days if there are no important data saved in the system data. If you do have some data (e.g. downloaded Virtual Console games) in there that you want to retrieve, it will take 4 to 10 days to process your console.

Although Nintendo chose not to divulge the extent of the bricking problem, it did say it is working on fixes that can resolve the error without replacing or repairing the console itself. In case your console has been affected by the firmware update you can call Nintendo's Service Department at 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options.

» I got the error but my wii wasn't bricked...

This happened to my roomates Wii when he was attempting to update his system... As a matter of fact he got the error code total of 3 times... The 4th time it actually completed and he hasn't had a problem since... I guess he's lucky his wasn't bricked.. I don't understand though if it's giving you the option to try again later how and click ok how that would cause a brick since it didn't happen to my roomates...
