Wiimote accessory patent diagram - Image 1

Nintendo is credited for breaking the market wide open time and again to let mainstream gamers in with their innovative products. We've seen it with the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk. We've seen it with the Wii Zapper, the Wii Balance Board, and soon enough, we'll see it with the Wii Wheel. Don't look now, but we might be in for more.

A patent diagram has been seen around in the web and it tells a pretty crazy scenario of the Wiimote plugging into all sorts of stuff. In the future, there's a possibility of seeing the Wiimote plug into a skateboard, teddy bear, and other stuff of that ilk.

But perhaps this is little more than idle doodles from product designers trying to explore possibilities. Will more attachments for the Wiimote make for a better gaming world, or have we seen enough innovations for now? You be the judge of that.

 » headtracking

This kinda reminded me of that one dude getting to wii remote to help in head tracking. That would really get some awesome games

 » yup!

i instantly remembered the head tracking guy with the prototype pic too!

but then i realized, with johnny chung lee's set up, the wiimote was placed in front of the tv... and it was the sensor bar that was incorporated into a pair of glasses. ^_^

still. it's a step forward in nintendo eventually using headtracking technology! woooot!

 » more plastic wiimote junk

Not only can you be a dork, but you can look like one too. Especially while trying to press the buttons!

Lol MCS, not like the people who play GH look silly with their enough with their plastic guitars, eh?

Yay if Nintendo really is thinking more about Wiimote accessories. Though I could see more low budget minigames or other cheap games being made to "make use" of them...
Only time will tell

 » WTF!?!?!?!?!

Unless someone can find the ORIGINAL source that includes the patent info then this "floating around pic" is nothing more then a fake pic.
