How can more competition do anything but make others work harder? Is it because you do not like the games? That still would not make any sense, as having mario or zelda or any of nintendo's games out on the market has no negative effect on you. Also, were it not for nintendo, there would be no sony playstation.

Nintendo has a backwards philosophy. They promote gimmick controllers and rehashing garbage technology rather than giving gamers better graphics, HD support, 5.1 digital surround sound, DVD playback, online play, etc.
The more successful Nintendo is with their *****ty baby systems, the less likely it is for Sony and M$ to put money into all the things we want in future generations, and the more likely it is that we'll get more gimmicks and more rehashed last-gen systems from all the companies.
If Nintendo fails miserably (hopefully), then Sony and Microsoft will have no choice but to give true gamers what they want. The PS3 is by far the most impressive system ever made. Imagine how awsome the PS4 could be. Now imagine how *****ty it will be with a dildo shaped controller and *****ty graphics. Nintendo has to go.

When I first heard that the Wii did not have much better graphics, I almost flipped. Although I strongly disapprove of the term "GCN 1.5", graphically speaking, it is. Nintendo delivered what they promised with the controller though.

Back to the topic, I hope Microsoft won't buy Nintendo - the games industry will crash (not saying gone forever, but won't be as big as today) because of no existance of a proper hardware game company. And thinking of Master Chief in SSB... *shudder*.

Now on topic id say if MS bought nintnedo it could come out good if MS just gave cash to nintendo and they did stuff their own way while having a powerfull system and MS adding connectivity with other windowns devices. But if MS stuck their heads inside nintendo id say it would fail miserably.
Now on the 3rd post isue, i wouldnt say nitendo is promoting a gimmick it seems quite fun, while i wouldnt buy one just yet id love to try one out. The Japanese are not bias toward xbox or microsoft they are simply waiting to see some good Japanese games on the system. In Japan 3 types of games sell the most, those are Action, Rpg and Sports, Xbox 360 is not selling well because there is no AAA Japanese games for the system, now that has changed the recently released dead rising is doing well in japan, also konami's winning eleven soccer, and with the upcoming lost planet and blue dragon being released before the end of the year along with good third party support, microsoft has the 3 genres covered and then some. Proof is in the sales, xbox 360 has been selling roughly 2000 units per week since launch, the playstation 2 in comparison sells roughly 20000 per week (1:10) just recently xbox 360 sold 6500 units in a week (1:4) a big improvement in my eyes, why?, because the AAA Japanese games are finally coming out.
The Japanese are not bias toward xbox or microsoft they are simply waiting to see some good Japanese games on the system. In Japan 3 types of games sell the most, those are Action, Rpg and Sports, Xbox 360 is not selling well because there is no AAA Japanese games for the system, now that has changed the recently released dead rising is doing well in japan, also konami's winning eleven soccer, and with the upcoming lost planet and blue dragon being released before the end of the year along with good third party support, microsoft has the 3 genres covered and then some. Proof is in the sales, xbox 360 has been selling roughly 2000 units per week since launch, the playstation 2 in comparison sells roughly 20000 per week (1:10) just recently xbox 360 sold 6500 units in a week (1:4) a big improvement in my eyes, why?, because the AAA Japanese games are finally coming out.

RedHat Linux "got away"
Apple got away, and poor Zune sales and slowing windows sales will show this more and more in the future. Macintosh is getting HUGE.
Computer Associates "got away" too, as did Mozilla Firefox which is killing Internet Explorer more and more every day.
What DIDN'T get away?
PS3? December of Businessweek seems to suggest (an article also in FORBES) that Playstation 3 will dominate the market as PS2 did.

Well Macs=*****... Its not Inovative its CRAP.
Personally I chose the Wii because I already have a powerhorse computer why would I want another one? Thats all the PS3 and X360 are. The Wii is different and when Im not playing DDR or BF2 Ill wipe out Zelda.
