Nintendo Pleased with April NPD results - Image 1Nintendo certainly has reason to be happy this month, as they sent out a press release citing their elation at the recent NPD results.

The NPD Group has had its say for the month of April, and according to the latest report, it's on top once again. Nintendo's Wii sold over 715,000 units, while the DS sold over 400,000 units, ending with both on top of the charts for the month.

In addition to this good turnout for the Nintendo platforms, the company also noted some good news for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, as the title recently crossed the 3 million sales mark in the United States.

Notes Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing:

Our belief in appealing to a broad, diverse audience of players continues to resonate with consumers, and we look forward to continuing our outreach to an expanded audience with the launch of Wii Fit next week.

Nintendo can remain confident in their strong standing with the gaming community, though every month is a new story, we suppose. Keep checking QJ to see if next month's NPD results tell a different story.
