These systems have both been out for a relativley long time now, have they took apart both systems so that they can find something that is somewhat close to their designs?
I'm assuming they're on about the motion controls since the 360 isn't involved, but no doubt they had a look inside that as well just incase.
People have been well aware of the controls and their workings for a long time now, I don't see why it has took them so long to make an issue of it. Money grabbers?

The Big N and $ony are both in it for the money TOO!! Get over your lame loyalty to a damned faceless company.
If you were part of Copper you'd be suing both these companies for everything your greedy little hands could touch.
Now, before you go off on your petty tangents about how I must be a part of Copper Innovations or that I have no 'love' for gaming... let me just point out that I own both a Wii and a PS3 and they're both remarkable systems.
I just don't give a damn about what happens to the companies that built these machines, that's all.

maybe because they merely came up with a theoritical idea for technology "lulz, I patent a thing that does a thing in a certain way, MAYBE!" and have not marketed it towards developers and/or hardware manufacturers FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS THAT THEY'VE HELD THE PATENT.
It's a flaw in our legal system that allows people to get rich off of the investment, innovation, and work of other individuals. Too many times these things don't go to court, and the suing party gets a nice big payoff for work they haven't done.

It sounds more like an opinion of what you'd do in the situation. Im not a dumbass who would make a patent 10 YEARS AGO, then try and say its my idea when I havent even put any work into it.
Its about the stupid way that you can sue someone off of an idea and actually get money for nothing you did.
So I think you should pay attention to exactly what people are complaining about, we could give 2 5hits about if the two compainies get sued, its about the idea of sueing someone for every little thing.

Microsoft's controllers are their own design, this is why there aren't any third party wireless 360 controllers, and they apparently didn't have their controllers communicate to their systems that way.

If I patented something and a company used my patent product design,I would sue too.Just like when ns,sy n m$ stole that rumble feature n didn't compensate the company who patented the product years b4.all these companies are greedy n want our money if they stole my design i would def seek payment. these are multi billion dollar companies, they don't care if they steal a design or violate a patent as long as they make money.

Yeah I mostly agree with that, but rather than having it expire within a year it should be made so that you have to make progress on it within say a year of the initial submission. Then every year after that you have to continue to make improvements or the patent expires.
