Personally I believe shortages on this level add MORE to popularity then it does to create PISSED off customers that buy something else.

MCS - Hmmm seems to be working pretty good for Nintendo so far I'd say. Is that why obsessive soccer moms and homosexuals everywhere still seem to want one? Sony sold 130 million PS2s with no supply problems ever after the first 4 months, what's Nintendo's problem?
When asked how did Nintendo avoid the problems with the Gamecube:
Reggie: "What I can tell you is that as we launched the Wii, we made sure that we had strong software support at the launch. We made sure that we had a fantastic consumer proposition, and we made sure that we had follow-up support." "I would argue that there are a number of very strong third-party titles that are doing very well in the marketplace. Whether you look at “Guitar Hero III” from Activision, that’s doing exceptionally well. Whether you look at “Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games” from Sega that’s doing well in the marketplace. What we have is … fantastic breadth of support from third party, and we also have a tremendous pipeline of new games coming out for the balance of this quarter.
MCS - Wii sports (a recycled tech demo), Excite Truck, some minigame collections, and Mario Galaxy a full year later. That's some crappy games and support if you ask me. Guitar Hero was an inferior port WITH MONO SOUND. Mario and Sonic Olympics got horrible reviews. The rest of the third party games are Gamecube and PS3 ports.
When asked about the Wii's many accessories he said:
Reggie: "Each of the accessories is meant to bring the gameplay closer and closer to the consumer and make it more immersive. Whether you’re talking about the Zapper for a first-person shooter type of game or the Wheel for Mario Kart or the balance board [for Wii Fit], each of these is an integral part of the experience, and we think that consumers certainly are enjoying and will enjoy everything that we have to offer."
MCS - The Wii wheel, wow a cheap plastic wheel that does almost nothing but hold a controller, very innovative. The Zapper, unlike the original, is just a controller holder in line with other cheap plastic accesories (at least it's cheap!) Then there's Wii fit, which will do nothing to make you fit, or even entertained. I guess if you're a Wii owner, you can be entertained by standing in certain positions but not me! At least it has some electronics inside....
When asked about the Wii's inferior online?
Reggie: "Our view is that the online experience needs to be something that adds value to the consumer experience and enables them to have a more in-depth experience – especially with the Wii remote. When you talk about gamertags, that really is a hardcore desire versus activity like creating Miis and other functionality that in our view, is much more what the mass market wants in their video-game console."
MCS - Yes, I would rather have a stupid stick figure cariacture that looks nothing like me than an online gamertag I use to log into the best online gaming platform there is with the most online games available. Oohh my Mii is sooo cute - if you're gay.

Brawl,” when it launches on Feb. 10, it’s going to make every core gamer fall in love with “Smash Bros.” all over again." "We have games that satisfy the core, but in our view, that is but a small part of the total gaming market. There are more than twice as many consumers that used to game, but don’t game today. We need to make sure that we include them in the mix as well."

Final fantasy Crystal chronicles 2, Zack and wiki, Dewys adventure, Sega superstar tennis!!, ]Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon is another Rpg not set to release in the US yet, those are some EXCLUSIVE games being made by third partys that are out or are being made!! They do have good third party support but it is true that most games hopefully just so far have been cheap ways to earn a buck but at least they DO get better third party support than the other two! Also as for Mario and Sonic check again! I will not hesitate to admit that it got some bad reviews by some but here this is from Wikipedia if u dont trust wikipedia FINE they have links there to all of these scores!!!!

All the ports for the wii are horrible compared to other systems Just look at guitar hero 3 or WWE Smackdown vs Raw 08 both which where horribly butchered the wiis graphics are a joke I see little difference from the gamecube or ps2 Wii cant even play dvds plus no hard drive no online support and the controls come on they suck with most games the only games that the wii is good for are first person shooters and SOME sports games and the games are so childish if you are over 12 there is no game on the wii you couldn't beat in 5 hrs the wii was a good idea just poor execution this holiday season don't buy a wii go with the xbox360 arcade almost the same price better games online support better graphics more fun
I do agree with Mr Common sense except for the whole "Gay" thing I really don't know y everybody wants a Wii there are no good games for it there are only 7 really good games for it thats it if you buy a wii you will be very disappointed and no i am not a fanboy i have every system from NES to all the current consoles i mean really what are some good game 4 the wii? besides the Mario, Metroid, and Zelda franchises? as far as i know, we have no doubt that wii focuses on non-gamers but its innovation sensitive motion system become candy not only for those non-gamer kids + girlish ppl but for all...isnt it ? i bought xbox360 first as it's very first released and wanted to hav next-gen feelin and sure i got...great system+online environment made me think "BEST" ! PS3 came out and one of my frds gave me to try...awesome graphics and stunning visual performance made me virtual becomes reality...so did my bro buy and we 2 spent on Assassin Creep and Heavenly Sword...BUT AFTER I TRIED WII...i realized it's totally different from the rest...new innovation system telling me THIS IS A REAL NEW/NEXT GEN CONSOLE GAME...why ?
because ever since NES out we all played using only wire or wireless controller with fewer or more buttons...THROUGHOUT the years we became ADULTS...we became knowin how to neatly finish chores/make money (or might i say how to (be) *****(ed) ?)...but we didnt know only developin on improvement of the graphical + CPU cycle of the ones we all LOVE SO MUCH should stop until Ninty showed since NDS came out. We all are human beings..we're invaluable..right ? juz relyin new technologies ? or the ideas + crictical thinking that always tryin to make different different things at each time ?

isnt it ? u all remember when SONY wiped out SEGA and dominated ard the time PS1 came out till PS2 (SEGA's console industry ended when DREAMCAST failed under PS2) end time...the price's really high for gamers who mostly have to tell mom to grab one...i had no choice as dyin to get one eagerly at dat time and there's no much promotions coz NO RIVALS at all for them...so the winner way they did but in different n even for PS3 they set the price high at launched if compared with the others (i know bluray but dunt tell me, a hardcore gamer, includin bluray is cheap)...when knowing the pains of a loser, cuttin price + givin gifts...LOL different companies persuade + make money from us in different ways...why tellin/blamin/firing at Ninty that cuttin supply while demanding is non-stop is a trick ? be minded different marketing method !
