Nintendo Wii console - Image 1The Nintendo Wii once again shows itself to be the fastest selling of the three next-gen consoles, as a report states that the Wii has sold roughly 1.95 million units in the Japan area alone. This report draws its figures from the Wii's Japan launch last year (December 2, 2006) up until last month, March 25. It will be remembered that the Wii console was already nearing the one million mark in Japan last January.

In a related bit of news, the Sony PlayStation 3 sold a total of 812,000 units in Japan since its debut on November 11. Comparing these two figures, it can be stated that Wii sales more than double the PS3, at least in the Japan region. Just stay tuned in case more updates for the Wii's sales are reported.
