Samus Aran - Image 1

New details abound the babe in the Phazon Suit's latest next-gen adventure on the Wii, courtesy of the good folks over at Nintendo Power, and from the looks of things, they're definitely something to be happy about. We get you the skinny on what's to expect with Samus Aran's exploits in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Reading from the featured article that's all about Samus, we learn that backtracking in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption wouldn't actually feel like backtracking this time - on the contrary, it's going to be a different experience altogether. Areas that you've already explored will actually be featuring new elements this time around, thus making the infamous chore of all Metroid games an actual treat to do. One of these elements will be enemies that continuously encroach upon the areas you're backtracking to.

We also learn that the developers have thrown everything but the kitchen sink at Samus this time - with no less than five boss-like baddies gunning for you during the first six hours of the game (which makes up of 19% of overall content). These enemies aren't your usual cannon fodder, as they're extremely well-designed and built to challenge the player to become intimately familiar with Samus' abilities. Definitely great news for us looking for a challenge.

There's also the little tidbit about the game's puzzles, forcing you to think out of the box. While this is already good news, we hope it's not the usual puzzle fodder of pushing blocks or punching switches. The Wii's motion-sensing capabilities are there, after all.

Certainly an info overload for those of us who can't wait to take Samus - or at least, a copy of her game - home. Updates as we get them, so keep it locked right here!
