In light of the October 23 release of Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution this week, the Major League Eating group, responsible for organizing most all stomach-centric sports event, is holding a spotlight event at the Nintendo World Store in New York. As it was previously announced, on October 27, the Rockefeller Center will be decked with anything and everything Naruto, from collectible card areas to video game stations.

The day's festivities start at 10 a.m. and will run through until 4 p.m., but the spotlight of the event is the World Ramen Noodle Eating Championship. There's going to be a mandatory chopsticks-only rule for the contest, and will feature some of the most notable celebrities in world of chow-down sports. Some of which include:
  • 4th-ranked Tim "Eater X" Janus of New York City, the face-painting tiramisu champ who recently ate 20 pounds of grits in ten minutes
  • Crazy Legs Conti, a man who once ate his way out of an 96-cubic foot box of popcorn, earning the nickname, "the Evel Knievel of the Alimentary Canal"

  • best friend duo Eric "“Steakbellie" Livingston and Micah "Wing Kong" Collins

Box art of Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution by Eighting, Tomy for the Nintendo Wii - Image 1If you fancy yourself a fan of the popular ninja-themed Naruto anime/manga/video game franchise, then you're in for a treat. We've found a short video which shows an insider look of the opening menu for the single player story mode of D3Publisher and Tomy's Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution.

The video basically shows how this English-ported game will look and sound like after the developers from Eighting have translated this game from its Japanese origins. The game itself is based on a mix of its previous iterations in the Clash of Ninja series, with a few additions thrown in when it comes to playable characters and all new special attack animations exclusive to the fighting game.

You can take a sneak peek at how the English-voiced Naruto and Neji will sound like as they trash talk each other in the short video clip. For those of you who are familiar with the anime's and manga's storyline, this happens a during the Chunin exam, after Neji defeats Hinata in a duel which puts the two Hyuuga ninja's family honor at stake.

Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution is a Wii exclusive release and set to hit stores this October 23 in a big time event at the Nintendo World Store. You can check out the video by clicking on the read link below.

Naruto: Clash of the Ninja Revolution to ship on October 23 - Image 1 Tomy Corporation and D3Publisher of America have announced that Naruto: Clash of the Ninja Revolution for the Wii will be shipped to retail outlets on October 23. This means that retailers will have their copies way before the slated October 27 launch this year.

This fighting game features characters from the popular animation series such as Sasuke, Kakashi, Sakura, and of course, Naruto. From all indications, gamers will have to skillfully wield the Wiimote and Nunchuk to pull of some of the special moves. Still, most fans of the game will probably memorize all of the techniques if only to see the awesome animation of the game's cutscenes.

It's understandable why Naruto fans are excited about the game considering it is the first Clash of the Ninja title translated into English. We'll just have to wait till this game launches to see if it lives up to all of the hype.

Naruto - Image 1We all know how big the Naruto manga, anime and gaming franchise is in Japan, but here's what we just found out: The loud ninja will debut his latest games in New York later this month and he plans to do it in style.

Naruto: Clash of the Ninja Revolution for the Nintendo Wii and Naruto: Path of the Ninja for the Nintendo DS will launch on October 27th in North America and all eyes will be on the Nintendo World Store in New York when it happens at exactly 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

According to the day's plans, there will be a ramen-eating contest featuring some of the world's greatest gastronomic gladiators in an intense face-off. Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS stations will also be allotted to participants of a fighting game tournament. Finally, there will be a raffle to give away one-of-a-kind items like an engraved Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS.

As a special treat to the Naruto faithful, the first 1,500 attendees wearing the trademark Naruto forehead protectors will get special gifts. Makes us wonder what they'll give people with sharingan contact lenses.

Pushing the capabilities of the Nintendo Wii to the test, Namco Bandai gives out some helpful tips on how to excel in its upcoming fast-paced ninja fighting game, Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution.

Playing on the current trend of other Wii exclusive fighting games, Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution makes use of the Wiimote and the Nunchuk to pull off the various special maneuvers and counters in the game. As you'll see in the video, the case in point is a quick tutorial on how you can manage Naruto's special jutsu, the Rasengan.

Just like in the anime, the Rasengan and a lot of the special jutsu rely on motions similar to their onscreen counterparts in the anime. Considering this will be the series' first English translated game, you can be sure that fans of the previous game and the anime that it's based on will be anticipating its North American exclusive release.

In the meantime, why not watch and enjoy the video we have on Naruto: Clash of the Ninja Revolution.
