Windows break because Wii did it. Bringing the latest trends in gaming violence against our electronic loved ones sounds like a very saddening thing to do, much like writing the obituaries for strangers. Wiihaveaproblem.com has chronicled two new events in the most recent spate of Wii-related violence, and we're glad we no longer have to cover the sad tales of the dastardly remote alone.

According to their reports, a poster on Nintendo's forums found himself bereft of both his usually-docile Wiimote and a window pane after said Wiimote slipped from his grasp. He was playing Wii Sports: Tennis at the time, when the Wiimote flew out of his hands, through their window, and out onto the lawn. Said poster is now presumably grounded as a result of the Wiimote's deviant behavior.

In other news, LCD TVs have not been spared from the berserker barrage of Wiimote violence. Shacknews' Dopefish notes how his friend was enjoying the Wii Sports more a little bit more than, "bowling with too much enthusiasm and too little strap-around-the-wrist," leading to the untimely demise of Dopefish's US$ 3,500 television.

Broken windows, wrecked televisions, blood, acts of Wiimote-induced rage, and carelessness and straps. All of it reaches the attention of the eyes and ears of QJ. We feel for the unfortunate victims of these heinous crimes, and pray that the only strap that criminal Wiimote finds is the one on his straightjacket when police take him into custody.

I'm more concerned about the fact that he's putting his hand through the hole in the glass. Unless he wants to risk serious injury to his hand, he shouldn't be doing that.

Moron.

 » ive tried it

i tried the wii at a friends house, and trust me the STRAP is a must, u never know when you have to do a different move with ur hands that has nothing to do with the game, like when someone comes in and u say hi, trust me you will be saying thanks for the strap , my friend as well has been thanksful to the heavenly strap, its just that we are used to let the controller somewhere and we dont get carried away but the movements..........but with the wiimote hahaah you just get too much into the game...... the wii is really fun......i love all consoles, getting a ps3 maybe half next year when the real good games come out......getting a wii as soon as i can i just really loved it

 » why not blame Nintendo?

everyone says that it's those people's faults. is it really?

don't you people think that it's happening way too often? I've even heard from a friend that a lot of mothers at their workplace has been complaining that the Wiimote has been flying everywhere due to straps breaking. This is a much more common problem than most people are lead to believe.

Not only that, the way Nintendo ADVERTISES the Wii, shows players using pretty extreme motion that i can see could potentially cause accidents if played the way they do on the commercials.

Nintendo should have addressed this problem better... did they not encounter any flying Wiimotes during consumer testings?
