We've been keeping tabs on the Japanese Virtual Console and we weren't too surprised to see that March's list of retro releases is about as sparse as February's. This is perhaps due to the fact that Nintendo Japan is launching Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and the WiiWare service in the region this month, hence the diversion in focus.

There's no need for worry, of course. There are still a number of interesting games in the mix to keep Japanese Wii owners happy. How about the legendary Metroid for the Famicom? City Connection seems like a lot of fun to play again. For Japanese robot enthusiasts, Joy Mech Fight should be a treat.

In any case, here's the full list of releases per emulated platform this March:
