Ó

My brain stops working whenever I see the great Perrin Kaplan, the woman I want to adopt as my mom. So to all of you who keep calling her a "hot mama," back off!  :P

She's the VP of Marketing and Corporate Affairs of Nintendo of America. And in this YouTube video, IGN has caught her in a perky mood (a previous interview caught her in a tired state, and it didn't help that the interviewer's first tactic was to ask her all the tough questions). By the way, if you didn't see the companion piece to this video, you better look for it: it's the hallelujah video where Matt Casamassina shows off the Wii hardware.

Lots of stuff in this video (yeah, we know some of you have seen it, but this is *big stuff* here in this little video). My favorite part is when the Dragonlady of Nintendo attacks the "why doesn't the Wii have a DVD player" issue:

Let me see. You are going to go this weekend and you are going go to a couple of garage sales and you are going to pick up a couple DVD players and you're going to get one probably for five bucks (it's a little banged up) and you're going to get one for like maybe 18 dollars because it's brand new out of the box and then you're going to go Best Buy and you're going to get one 29 bucks and you're going to have three DVD players. I don't think you need one on here.

Yeah, I have no need for the DVD play back in the Wii cause I have 2 of them maybe sometime in the future will be 3 when ever I get a Xbox 360. My first next gen console is going to be thne wii though it looks appealing to me looks pretty cool.

she is probably smarter then a blonde with all those quick questions. you need a fricken dvd in the first place incase someone doesn't have one. that is why i got a ps2 to play dvds and it still works well worth no straches. plus i still don't have a regular dvd in my room only in the living and mac core 2 dual. you need to have more space in the disc to make wii stronger.i rather have a "ferrari" than a wii, hah aha. silly rabbit trixs, are for wees.

The only reason Wii doesn't play DVD's is because Nintendo is a backwards company that has no idea which direction technology is moving. Why else would they try to pass off their 5 year old trash technology as a next-gen system with a TV remote as its "innovative" controller?

No HD, no DVD, no next-gen graphics, crippled online support, and a controller that is worthless in serious and conventional games = No Wii for me and anyone else that takes gaming seriously.

Do you know how early Perrin would have been at E3, with nintendo? That event lasts a while and apparently Matt got to her near the end of the day, so as they said in the video, they were very tired.
