For fans of the anime/manga series, Mahou Sensei Negima, then you're in for a treat as the Japanese site GPARA has just put up tons of artwork and screenshots from the Wii iteration of the popular shoujo series by Ken Akamatsu of Love Hina fame. The game, entitled Mahou Sensei Negima: Neo-Pactio Fight!, follows the adventures of our lead character Negi Springfield. Meanwhile, with him would be the 31 girls from class 3A of the Mahora Academy, as well as 8 others who are yet unnamed, who will be joining the ranks for a total of 40 playable characters. As in the anime and manga versions, the Wii version will allow the players to choose pick their favorite characters, and use each one's unique ability once they're in Pactio mode. Then, players can go up against eachother in a four-way battle. So, half-adventure, half-versus, half-action and part dating SIM (we're not sure about this last bit, but it's Negima we're talking about here...), this game apparently also has features such as being able to equip your characters with armor, or just plain dressing them up. See? It's got something for everyone. Developed by Marvelous Interactive and set to be released in Japan by this June, the game will retail for ¥6800 or about US$ 56. And no, unfortunately, we still don't know why the heck Asuna is wearing a hamster suit (?) in the image on the bottom right of this post... Check out the Read link below for oodles more screenshots and images! |

Not really big news since not everyone's into Anime, but noteworthy nonetheless. Those of you who are into importing those weird games from Japan, and those of you who happen to like Ken Akamatsu's Mahou Sensei Negima, take notice of Mahou Sensei Negima!? Neo-Pactio Fight!! for Nintendo's Wii.Judging from the game's official site, the game developed by Marvelous, looks like it's set to be a 3D fighter mixed in with what appears to be dating-sim elements (this is based on the displayed screenshots of character dialogue) and mini-game elements. If you're into storylines that feature a lone underage male protagonist surrounded by hordes of nubile adolescent ladies who can turn into powered warriors by kissing you, then this game is for you. The game is set to see a June 14 release date in Japan. No word yet if it will reach our shores. We'll update you if more info is made available. Feel free to head to the official site and check the game, the girls, and the generous fan-service out yourself via our "read" link below. |

More reasons for the anime fan(boy)s to pick up a Nintendo Wii, in case artists like Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto), Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball Z), or Tite Kubo (Bleach) weren't your cup of tea. Famitsu has just released a batch of gameplay screenshots of another anime/manga-based video game being readied for a Japan release, and if the image above didn't give it away, it's based on the Negima!: Magister Negi Magi manga series by Ken Akamatsu (of Love Hina fame), with the full Wii title dubbed as Magister Negi Magi: Neo-Pactio Fight!! Now, for the readers wondering what all the hubbub is about, the Negima! series is about Negi Springfield, a bespectacled a 10 year old wizard from Wales (Uh, no, not that child wizard) who has just graduated from Merdiana Magic Academy. In order for him to become a master magician, Negi is given a cover identity as an English teacher at Mahora Academy while he undergoes further magical training. The series details his day-to-day life mingling with - and eventually gaining the respect of - his all-girl (*sigh*, it is an Akamatsu after all...) class. As for the game proper, we don't have too many details at this point, although it appears to be an action genre that features (according to our babelfish translations) a magical roulette system that allows characters to change costumes. Given that the series has over 31 characters, and the game is stated to support 4-player multiplayer battles, this could lead to some crazy combat indeed. Negima! is slated for a summer release in Japan. Now, on to the screenshots! The rest of the screenshots at the Full Article! |
