Castlevania - Image 1Koji Igarashi, the current producer of the Castlevania series, recently spoke about the mixed reactions Castlevania Judgment has been getting. He pointed out that while he was expecting negative reactions from the gaming community, he still feels that the reaction was "unjustified."

In an interview with MTV Multiplayer, he noted that when you have an established franchise known for a certain style of gameplay, any drastic change would be looked upon unfavorably.

However, he added that the response of the community was unjustified because they are basing their *ahem* judgment on "just hearing about it or maybe seeing a couple of screen shots and making a whole assumption."

As a gamer, I know how passionately a person will defend a video game series he or she loves. If someone were to change the core gameplay of that specific game, it is understandable how die-hard fans would respond quite negatively to it.

However, Igarashi does make a solid point. Let's not knock Castlevania Judgement (too hard at least) till we try it. Besides, I think that we can trust the guy with this considering the great work he's done on the series since Symphony of the Night.
