But it's still not a DVD it's on an SD card and also you can't skip chapters and things. Finally how many people out there don't actually own a DVD Player of some sort. Come on, t's a waste of time.
Thats not playing DVD. Its completely pointless doing this conversion when you might as well use your dvd player.
Just get a DVD player. They're like $40 now and will be MUCH better quality than anything the Wii will put out with any number of hacks. I don't mean graphical quality, I mean ease of use, interface, etc, etc.
Game consoles are for playing games, and they do it well. Take a look at the PS2, if you want to see a horrid example of a console playing a DVD. The XBox/X360 isn't much better. The PS3 probably isn't either.
If you've got the money for a big computer, 2gb SD Card, and all that mess... You can afford a DVD Player.
You still need to use wiivideo 9, you still need sd cards.
There's no solution, you only mentioned the problem with that post.
On top of that, the video quality is crap, and the filesize is huge!
Seems like alot of work, especially if you own the DVD and a DVD player.
Thats the dumbest crap I've ever heard.... I dont understand why Nintendo wont just give the fans what they ask for instead of Striving to be so innovative. I mean the new controller system is cool and all but why make a REMOTE and not put somthing as simple as a DVD player on the thing.... That alone would add some more nerds to the fan base....
Imagine Playing Smash Bros Brawl for 12 hours straight trying to unlock every level and charater on the game, then going to the kitchen snatching up a Red Bull. Then pop in your brand new Anime that u purchased off Ebay instead of investing your money in some proactive skincare and watching it on ur Wii...
Just thought I'd put an image in the head of a few Nerds out there
How to watch ---DVD MOVIES--- on Wii, not necasarily DVDs. Though the title is very misleading.. Plus WiiVideo9 is old news
And what about the subtitles? :X
I want 2 minutes of my life back....
DVD on the wii??, i saw "wii video 9" more times in that sentence than "DVD"
Ive only used my card/Wii Video to convert episodes of various shows to watch on my wii. Most dvd's (IMO, so not EVERY dvd currently on the market, just the movies/shows i like) available/worth watching i own.
"How to watch DVD movies on Wii"
way to catch attention with false statements. Converting DVD into poor Wii video format via Virtual Dub has nothing to do with "watching" DVD.
exactly. Stopp write a header that doesnt have anything to do with the contents!
has anyone tried this?
once i used wii video9 and the file became like four times as big
and what i want to know is whether using this other program "virtual dub" will make a difference
THe quality of DVD movies on the ps2 was a copywrite feature...not a lack of quality. Sony purposely occasionally dimmed the brightness of DVD movies to avoid ppl from recording the movies.
As for the ps3...its playback is flawless, especially bluray movies. Half the reason sony included a bluray player is so they could flood the market and win the high def wars over the competing HD-DVD format. Making the quality poor, on purpose, would prompt their customers to buy a HD-DVD player and thus lose the battle.
One more thing, the ability to play DIVX files on a home entertainment system is quite a useful tools...while I have a dvd collection into the hundreds, I have five times more DIVX/XVID movies...which allows me to watch those files on my TV and not my computer, which is possible with a dvd player, but normally a pain. Plus the Wii rocks :)
Who want's to by a game system that will play the same thing their cheap old dvd player can play? Start the trend for either HD or Bluray. From what I've read, they already have an HD component cable, make it an HD DVD player too!
