Stalwart Wii homebrew developer waninkoko has done it again, and this time in a major, major way, with the release of a custom IOS installer for the Wii. Demonstrating the power of this installer, waninkoko has also released a Wii DVD Dumper and GenPlus-GX, a Genesis emulator for the Wii that makes use of the custom firmware. Developer dhweg has released rev 33083 of the Wii's ScummVM Emulator. Among other things, this new build fixes a savegame issue that was affecting the previous release. Further details are available in the full article.

Coder teknecal paves the way for the future of Wiibrew with Homebrew Browser. This application lets you download and update homebrew applications directly through your Wii, which means you don't have to keep switching your SD card to and from your console and PC. NeoGeo Pocket emulation on the Wii and Gamecube is now a reality, thanks to homebrew developer Askot. The coder, known for introducing the first NES emulator on Nintendo's next generation console, has been a driving force behind most of the Wii ports game console emulators, and today isn't one to detract from legacy. Though days old, the GameBoy Color for the Nintendo Wii and GameCube known only as RIN has been upgraded to version 2008-06-20, which is a massive upgrade since the previous version of the homebrew emulator.  Homebrew developer Askot picked up where author mirakichi left off, and now RIN has GC support.
