Yaroze - Image 1After 12 years, Sony is about to pull the plug on its Yaroze program, which made console development available to aspiring non-professionals. Wario - Image 1Some recent evidence posted by Wiibrew developer Bushing has revealed that Nintendo may now be charging an extra fee for repairing a homebrew-capable Wii. It's long been generally believed that homebrew voids warranties, but the issue here seems to be the huge additional repair costs, not the fact that a homebrew-enabled Wii is considered out of warranty. More after the jump.

Wii homebrew - Image 1Wii homebrew dev Tantric has released what looks like a very useful tool for all Wiibrew devs out there, new and old alike. It's called libwiigui and, as you can probably infer from the name, is a GUI library for the Nintendo console. The aim of libwiiGUI is twofold: one, to help structure the design on a complicated GUI; and two, to help Wiibrew devs create sophisticated, feature-rich interfaces.
