The Nintendo Wii - Add Mic button? - Image 1 The Nintendo Wii - Add Mic button? - Image 2

The guys from Go Nintendo picked this little rumor up from forums sprouting over the Net regarding a rather blurry after-image of an "Add Mic" button visible in the Wii Home Menu. How do you spot it?

Run your Wii on regular 480p and don't forget to enable your screen-burn protection feature. Then insert your The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess disc. Press Home. Wait for the screen dimmer to kick in and check out the upper right of the "Wii Menu" button.

You should be able to spot an almost ghostly "Add Mic" button offset from the "Wii Menu" button towards the upper right. A glitch? A burned after-image on the phosphors? While there has been a flurry of confirmations and denials, there's nothing official out yet.

Of course, we all know the mic-on-the-Wii issue isn't new: Disney's High School Musical coming for the Wii will come with a microphone for you to strike a note with Zack and Vanessa. But what does Zelda have to do with a mic? It could be possible that the idea of a microphone was also in the works while the Wii was being developed and had been removed before release. What's your guess?

it is very possible.... But more than likely a "burn in" on the screen. But i must confirm this on my Copy of Zelda, just to be sure. And it could be a possibility that there was a mic, but this isnt even close to an answer. This is just some guys TV, i mean really, He could (or she) have done exactly what it reads in the above:

I quote "Screen Burn-in" End quote

if it was burn in, it would be seen at all times. also dont you think he would know what the image came from seeing its his tv and all. a small phrase couldnt burn in my tv without me knowing about it.

this is a glitch that is giving away a hidden secret in TP. there is currently in developement mmo plans for TP that have already been programed, waiting to be unlocked.

Check the Lettering in the "add Mic" part, it isnt Wii Type Lettering, Just compare the M in Mic to the M in Menu. the one on "Mic" is wider than the M on the Wii "Menu" Is simply that easy to figure out...It is a burn-in, and whoever says theirs is like this too, they are just wanting to be a part of the crowd....Plus anyone can photo edit.

But the QJ staff told you how to see it yourself, and a few people have confirmed that it's there.

The font for the wii buttons can be different from the games because one may be a font from the game and the other a font from the Wii.

how did anybody pick that up? i mean its not like we all stare at the wii menu looking at every single detail with our copies of zelda in our wiis. also if it is burn-in where did it come from? its not like the wii has an 'add mic' feature

The person who found this is colorblind. He sees shapes, not colors, so this is obvious to him.

nintendo is finishing up the final stages of its Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess on line multi play. its already been programed it just needs to be turned on. the "mic" is actually reffering to the ds. with a ds head set you will be able to talk to other players in game. and it wont require any other hardware because of the ds's download capabilities. just wait and see.

Just checked... nothing there. Pictures are fake.

Another example of QJ.net editors and their "post first... let someone else verify later" philosophy.
