Not content with the success they had over Sega's pullout of a Samba de Amigo ad with a chimpanzee as a cast member, animal rights group PETA has now set their eyes on Nintendo's Cooking Mama (DS and Wii).

PETA's Cooking Mama - Image 1

Yes, the domestic food-loving mama has found herself to be the new target of PETA as she allegedly serves dishes made from dead animals. Explains the org,

Why is PETA picking on poor Mama? Because the games are so heavy on dishes made from dead animals that the only things missing are the blood and the slaughterhouse. So in the name of accuracy and honesty, PETA decided to introduce a little of both...

We wish that all cooking games would allow to prepare more vegetarian dishes instead of just slicing up animal flesh over and over - so on our site we encourage players to contact Majesco to ask for an all vegetarian-recipe Cooking Mama game.

They've even thrown in their own version of Cooking Mama in flash, complete with the subtitle: "Mama Kills Animals" for good measure. It's got several stages, too, from plucking the turkey feathers to removing its internal organs under time pressure and a shrewd-looking Mama's gaze all the way to stuffing it and taking off the head. Speaking of which, you think Majesco Entertainment will succumb to the pressure and come out with an all-vegan Cooking Mama edition?

If you think you've got the stomach for it, you can check out their game via the source link below, leading to PETA's Cooking Mama site.

Looks like the Iron Chef shows (Japan and US) are gonna be in trouble next. Cos you know, they have meat for their secret ingredients.

peta is gonna have to face it, people eat meat,
people will always eat meat, and people will continue not to care what peta thinks about them eating meat.

 » Business

I've said it before... Game companies are a business, they're there to make money. Making people happy is a side benefit. Whether PETA likes it or not the general population eats meat. It wouldn't make very good business sense to target an audience who takes up only a small portion of the population.

 » Theory

This further probes my theory that most vegetarians, and especially those that f**k around like PETA, are seriously retarded.

Why the f**k don't the ask Discovery Channel to stop doing documentaries on carnivores then? You know, a lion killing a zebra or a Crocodile eating a Ñu is far more graphic and obscene than Cooking Mama.

PETA is made up of people whose idea of a rational argument never evolved past that of a child.

 » Excuse me...

While I take some time to go club a couple of baby seals and playing Cooking Mama.

Stupid PETA! I appreciate their cause - preventing cruelty to animals - but don't they realize? God gave us incisors and canines and made animals taste GOOD - two pretty big factors working against them.

*clubbing sounds in background accompanied by sounds of innocent, large eyed, baby seals squealing - however, I'm sure the two aren't related>*

Not all PETA members are vegetarians. So yeah, wrap your head around that one!

PETA is a fat bowl of FAIL.

doesnt imply that eating meat is bad, rather Executing unecessary tactics in animal hunting is bad. I also agree that PETA would be much more effective if i wasn't so extreme and acted sensible from time to time.

 » WTF!?!?!?!?!

"doesnt imply that eating meat is bad"

That was my point. If eating meat isn't bad then what the heck is wrong with this game?

Why is their fight for a vegetarian only game?

Why did they create a ridiculous image stating that "mama kills animals"? Would they rather we eat LIVE animals? The fact that mama kills animals is BS to being with as mama doesn't kill anything in the game. Mama buys her dead meat at the store like everyone else.

This bit of news is not about the mistreatment of animals. It's about a SIMULATION of cooking with meat which is better then a LIVE demonstration of wasting food.

This came is actually PRO PETA, but PETA is so f_cked in the head they can't even see that.

"People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals"

If that was TRUE then this game would not be a problem. But it is, which means PETA really stated for "something else". Which is why:

PETA is a fat bowl of FAIL.

I only played the DS version for about as long as I could stand to hear, "BETTER THAN MAMA". I never saw any animals being killed. Is the Wii version different? Any chicken heads beihg cut off that I don't know about?
