Someone's not meeting expectations, and it's Square Enix's Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers. The Wii title has sold only about 26,000 units on its first day on shelves, reports Japanese retail blog Sinobi. Square Enix has initially shipped a little less than 75,000 units for the game. Maybe they weren't expecting much from it to begin with? Other Crystal Chronicle titles raked in the following numbers for their first-days:

» This saddens me.
I was actually looking forward to this game compared to the others (which aren't bad, but not my preferred game). I hope it's just because it's a sleeper title and not a bad game.

» WTF!?!?!?!?!
"but not my preferred game"
That's the general consensus of the Chronicles series. So it's no surprise that people aren't clamoring for it. If the game is in fact good, that will have to come out first then sales will rise.
In other words, I don't have to "demo" FF13 to know I want it. If the story is only half as good as past titles then I want it for sure. As for this new title... I'll never buy any chronicles games on faith. Not after having been burned in the past.

If the story is half as good as FF12, then it'll just be random naked men grunting unintelligable crap before trundling off to hit people with clubs. FF12 sure had a crap story

I wouldn't call it crap but it certainly wasn't the best.

» Well...
So far, I've liked 12's story as compared to a few others.... but yeah, not the best ever.
The chronicles games all seem to be multiplayer oriented, which is why it's not my preferred game. Since the game demands to be played with 3-4 people, it can be difficult to get together people who are willing to play on a steady basis.
Crystal Bearers seems to be single-player oriented, which I like more in jrpg's.
