Reggie Fils-Aime of Nintendo - Image 1Now that Christmas is around the corner and Nintendo Wii units are undoubtedly selling like hotcakes, even Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said the platform holder is having a hard time trying to plan for the coming months because of constant shortages.

"The level of demand we are facing complicates all of our future business planning," Fils-Aime told Reuters in an interview. He went on to say planning becomes "a much tougher exercise until we have supply and demand curves that intersect."

The gaming giant's handheld, the Nintendo DS which experienced an explosive November in terms of sales, also poses some problems because of higher-than-expected demand according to Fils-Aime. "The DS continues to perform exceptionally well, with some retailers voicing concerns about DS inventory going into the holiday," he explained.
