Electronic Arts acquisition of VG Holding Corp. completed - Image 1

It was only less than three months ago when Electronic Arts announced that it will acquire VG Holding Corp., the parent company of BioWare and Pandemic Studios. Now EA has just announced that the acquisition is complete.

What does it mean for us gamers, you ask? Well for one thing, EA now has the licenses to BioWare and Pandemic's games, like Baldur's Gate, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect, Star Wars Battlefront, and Destroy All Humans.

One of the things we might be seeing in the future is for these games to go multiplatform, which EA games are inclined to do. This theory has already been hoped to be true for the sequel to the Xbox 360 game, Jade Empire.

All in all, EA has acquired six intellectual properties from the acquisition, totaling to ten franchises. So what's in store for these games? Check back for updates.

 » Pressure Much?

Man I sure hope that this doesn't affect the quality of Bioware's games. They have great talent when it comes to games and having a big corp like EA breathing down your neck pushing release dates..... I could see em' cutting corners.

 » what's EA's Problem?

OMG, this is the worst news for all us D&D gamers out there! I can't believe that they would even stoop that low as to let themselves be bought! Why!?

I had much respect for Bioware, and I've always hated EA Never liked there games. I read that the former president of EA moved over to Bioware and became the President 3 years ago, and I'm guessing this guy is the culprit.
All they do is buy company and care nothing for gamers, they suck.
I also did a study on ALL the game companies they bought out and its pretty sad... RIP Bioware we'll miss ya. T.T
