Metroid: Other M - Image 1

Longtime Metroid series director Yoshio Sakamoto has categorically denied that Metroid: Other M is the same game as Metroid Dread, a long-rumored side-scrolling game in the Metroid series.

What fueled this speculation is that apparently, Other M was actually conceived way back in 2006. During a Metroid interview yesterday with Sakamoto and Team Ninja producer Yosuke Hayashi, Kotaku asked if there was any relation between the two games. Sakamoto's response:

The day may come when Dread hits the stores, but this one is something that's completely different. This is Other M.

Well, judging by the way the answer was phrased it seems Dread is real after all. And since Ms. Aran is looking quite awesome in Other M -- both with the Power Suit on and off -- here's the E3 trailer. Enjoy.
