Dragon Ball Z Sparking! Meteor official site - Image 1

The teaser of the world's biggest guilty pleasure this side of the gaming generation is now up. Yes, folks, it's Dragon Ball Z Sparking! Meteor for the Sony PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii.

The site is pretty much a flash presentation that succinctly speaks of the franchise: loud and explosive. Now, as we've said in the past, none of us here can actually read Japanese, but it seems there COULD be somewhere around 150 characters in the game itself, judging by the flashing Japanese script. But with the game clearly in 3D (there's a couple of screenshots that are actually decent-looking) and being announced to also make its way to the PS2, it's a bit unlikely. It'd be neat, though.

The animation then displays some familiar faces (Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza). It's good to know that the main staples of the series is still included - it wouldn't be the same without them, after all. After that, the iconic dragon balls float up from the meteor, and the words "COMING SOON! 2007 AUTUMN PS2 and Wii" are displayed.

A cast, and a release date. Not bad for a teaser. Updates as they come on Dragon Ball Z Sparking! Meteor! So you wanna check it out, eh? Then click on our Read link below.

These developers are so f**kin lazy. Still making cheesy looking ps2 games because its easier there lazy when we could have like dbz for the ps3.

 » Funny japanese devs.

I love DBZ games. I always have, despite how many they make. I've played them since DBZ Final Bout on the PS2 and before that.. The sad thing about this is that they likely are going to be using the same engine that the previous sparking games were made on, yet slightly modified.. Then again, it isn't that bad of an engine. I just hate the stiffness in characters.
