Dewy the droplet in Dewys Adventure - Image 1The Christmas season may have come and gone, but the Nintendo Wii sales are still around. Well, at least one item is up for sale, anyway. Amazon has slashed a considerable 50% off the normal selling price of Konami's Dewy's Adventure . If you wish, you may compare the price of the game before with the new selling price. Those details, as always, are available after the jump.

The Nintendo Wii's motion-sensing capabilities certainly offered something new to the table, in terms of how someone can interact with a game's elements. But with the world having recovered from the shock of motion-sensing controls, shouldn't it be time for game developers to put more focus on the gameplay itself, rather than promoting the fact that the Nintendo Wii can detect movement?

The answer is yes, and it comes from Shingo Mukaitoge, the mind behind two of the Wii's quirkiest titles - namely Konami's Elebits and Dewy's Adventure, in this video interview from this year's E for All expo.

He says that the Nintendo Wii's unique controls allow developers to think up of new ways on how to present their game, but with the video game industry now more or less accustomed to the console's quirks, it's time to focus on making the controls complement the game and not the other way around. He also mentions that developers also need to address the online aspect of gaming, something that the Wii's competitors have been focusing on as well.

Certainly an eye-opening statement indeed. Here's hoping that developers take it to heart. Watch the video interview below.

You'd think a tiny droplet of water would be helpless, but this particular drop isn't such a pushover: Dewy. We've got three new gameplay videos for the upcoming Nintendo Wii video game from Konami Digital, Dewy's Adventure, which show just how resilient the little blue blob is.

In the videos, we see Dewy battling a giant donut-like crab and like other cute blobs we know, Dewy just seems too cute to be fighting anything. Anyway, we also see him slugging it out with a big gecko and sliding across platforms, all in the name of defeating Don Hedron and saving the world. Dewy's Adventure looks fun, especially turning into a teeny storm cloud and zapping enemies with lightning bolts.

Anyway, we'll leave you to watch the videos. Dewy's Adventure from Konami Digital is already on shelves in North America and Japan, though Europe has yet to see it on their side of the Atlantic.

Who knew water droplets can be so bad-ass? In Konami's latest adventure game for the Nintendo Wii, you take on the role of Dewy, a young water droplet out to defeat the Evil Lord Hedron in order to put a stop on his anti-water policies. Director Shingo Mukaitoge talked to IGN about it and he shared some screens as well.

In Dewy's Adventure, you can be more than just a droplet that falls to the ground and seeps into the soil never to be seen again. Dewy can be controlled and rolled around in his liquid glory with gestures using the Wiimote. If you think that's boring, wait 'til you hear about what the D-pad can do.

Using the control pad, the environments around Dewy can be controlled in terms of temperature. Raising the heat will cause you to evaporate, turn into a mini-cloud, and give you the ultra-fun ability to strike hapless foes with lightning. If you want to chill out, there's always the option of lowering the temperature which will turn you into a little chunk of ice that can freeze enemies and surroundings. Make no mistake, however, as the degree of difficulty in controlling Dewy changes as his state varies.

Across the colorful levels, you're going to have to do more than beat enemies. You'll also encounter head-scratching puzzles that will challenge your wits. The puzzles will have a lot to do with your abilities, so master them all.

Mukaitoge promised more details in the succeeding volumes of his developer diary log on IGN. We'll give you an update as soon as they are released. For the meantime, enjoy these nice screens which IGN posted. You can also click on the read link to see the director's fill log.

With an appealing visual style, creative water-based gameplay mechanics, an awesome use of the Wii's motion-sensing capabilities, and of course, the liberal amounts of diabetes-inflicting cute it contains - it's no wonder that Dewy's Adventure is making a lot of waves with the videogame community in general.

So much that a very long gameplay video illustrating 10 reasons why the title is a must-buy was concocted - and for your viewing pleasure, here it is.

We won't give you a rundown of the entire list, because frankly, the video needs to be watched - it's that good, and spoiling it would just be criminal. However, what yours truly will give is that while the obvious pros of the game is mentioned, it's the more subtle aspects of Konami's game that got the top spots.

Video embed's below, you know what to do. Enjoy!

Dewy's many forms - Image 1

Just a few days after Konami released Dewy's Adventure in Japan, Siliconera was able to chat with Ray Hiyoshi, the associate product manager for the incredibly imaginative game. With past articles already covering how the gameplay works, it was certainly nice to get some info on Dewy's history.

According to Hiyoshi, the team who developed Dewy's Adventure - the very same people who did that other cute game, Elebits - were a "socially responsible group". Their environmental leanings were evident in Elebits, and this time with Dewy they ended up with another cute creation that's also eco-friendly-themed.

When asked about why they decided to put a water droplet as the main protagonist in the game, he only has this to say:

That’s a good question, I actually don’t know why a water droplet. I mean they decided to make something that looked cute. I don’t know why the team came up with a water droplet to be honest with you.

One of the remarkable things that was mentioned in the interview was that Dewy's Adventure was actually in development before Elebits. Hiyoshi promises a more robust game, having spent more time and effort to create, improve and tweak the game.

We do hope that Dewy's Adventure will be launched in North America, with all the fun crammed into it: Multiplayer modes for up to four players, as well as an Edit mode where players can create their own maps and have them available for download. Yes, just like Elebits.

We learned today that Wii owners from Europe can finally give Dewy's Adventure a try as Konami is expected to release the video game in the said region on November 23. The little blue bouncing drop of water fist captured the hearts and smiles of our Japanese friends when it was released there on July 26, so it should make a killing in western shores too.

Anyway, despite being cute and sunshiny, Dewy's Adventure is host to some evil in the character of Don Hedron. How evil is Don Hedron? He poisoned the Elder Tree by infecting it with Black Water just because he can. As Dewy, players now must try to vanquish this evil to restore the Tree.

To celebrate the announcement, here are a couple of artwork from Dewy's Adventure. Just click on the thumbnails to see the larger version of the images. There is still currently no announcement for a North American release though.

In this game, you will take the role of Dewy as he try to save the Elder Tree from the Black Water infection caused by the evil Don Hendron. Gameplay involves solving various puzzles with the help of Dewy's elemental powers. Of course, all of these will be done through the Wiimote.

Dewy's Adventure - Image 1Dewy is like the little drop of water that could. He may just be composed of two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen, but this brave little blob of liquid is questing to save the towering Elder Tree and clean it of the Black Water infection caused by the evil Don Hedron in Konami's upcoming Wii title, Dewy's Adventure.

In the game, players will make use of the Wii's motion-sensing controller to roll Dewy around the game's environment. Once properly positioned, players can then use Dewy's arsenal of elemental powers to solve various puzzles using the gesture-based controls that Wii games are known for.

Today we have a pretty big bunch of new screenshots as well as two pieces of art from Dewy's Adventure. Check out the screenshots for a look at the little blob himself along with some of his enemies, as well as a sneak peek at the game's multiplayer feature.

Dewy Plush toy...kawaii - Image 1Given that Konami's just revealed that Dewy's Adventure for the Wii will be making splashdown this July 26, we imagine that Japan's going to be the happy recipient of some very game-relevant swag in the next few weeks.

And here is the Dewy plushie, which is expected to stand at approximately 20 centimeters tall - just big enough for the serial huggings we expect it to face when its (limited) stock is released. Rabbids, you've got a contender.

This sickeningly cute product was spotted over at the Konamistyle site, which further details that prospective owners will have to pre-order the Dewy's Adventure game to take advantage of this perk.

The game itself expected to sell for 5,800 Yen (US$ 47.7) come launch. Keep your Play-Asia link handy, readers - there's no news of Dewy's physical manifestation heading for North America. We've also picked up more screenshots, in case you're wondering how the game looks. Happy viewing!
