Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop - Image 1

Define irony. In the context of Capcom's Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop, it's having a zombie game with not enough zombies. Odd, yes?

Nonetheless, Nintendo Power is saying that although there aren't a gazillion zombies to chase around with, it's still got "a lot". In fact, Capcom's been said to be working on upping the undead population count, and it's upped considerably nicely since then.

Still, it appears that the zombies have yet to bloom to their hundred potential, but we guess there's no rush. The dead ain't going anywhere, anyway.

Maybe the Wii could handle hundreds of zombies if they went back to scaling 2d sprites.

That's terrible, what's the point of porting this game to an inferior platform 2 years after the much better 360 release?

 » Well...

Thats because it's not a port. At least not a direct port. And to be honest, I always wanted to play Dead Rising on the 360, and then one day, something magical happened. I did, but...it...it sucked. I was so upset. It wasn't necessarily the bad controls, or the floopity story line. It was the immense amount of f**king load screens. There was literally like 3 for every area. I'd go into a new room an-LOAD SCREEN FOR 2 MINUTES-d then I'd get to watch a cool cutsc-LOAD SCREEN FOR 45 SECONDS-ene and then my next objective would be clear and I'd be ready to kill some zombies. Then, that wouldn't happen because the difficulty in some areas was ridiculous. So then I'd have to repeat all afore mentioned loading screens and crap. At least this ugly Wii port will have better controls...thats all I can assume.

Ive played dead rising and ive never been bothered about load scenes. Infact, I dont even recall the amount of load scenes you talk about, i thought there were an average amount of load screens and they never took long at all.

...That's probably because you sucked, not the game.

 » Hey now...

I said that there were areas that were more difficult than others, did I not? Regardless, I can across a lot of load screens. It really took away from the quality of the game.

lol! whats next? They gonna start porting games to the PS2? Oh, and maybe the PS1! It seems developers just love making games for crappy consoles that have no power, probably cause it's easier for them.

 » Rediculous.

Is it that horrible to see that this awesome game is being ported to a system that many own already? Seriously, there are _many_ out there that can barely own one system, let alone two. Is it so bad that they get to play this game at all?

Don't recommend to me either that they should buy a 360 just to play the 'better' version of this game.

Seriously guys, get over yourselves.

When were the PS2 and PS1 crappy consoles?

 » To be honest

I have absolutely no hope for this. Its not the lowered zombie count, and its not the reduced graphical quality, its the amount of cuts to gameplay that have been made and are sure to be made.

They dropped the freakin' camera. Why?! It can't be THAT hard to figure out a control scheem for the camera. Its not a memory issue, because Brawl has snapshots, they only take 1 block of memory each. I just don't get it.

There'll be this, and then they're going to get rid of half of the weapons. No more benches, katanas, golf clubs, or most of the other really fun ones.

I like the idea of Dead Rising on the Wii, but they shouldn't have made a port. They should have rebuilt the game from the ground up, story and all, to make a proper Wii experience.

Chances are I'll at least rent this, just because of what it is, but I doubt I'll even try to buy it...

On the 360 the parking garage had probably 1000 zombies. I wonder how many the Wii will have?

Just to see how they implement the Wii controls. But it doesn't seem like it'll be as fun as the 360 version.

But now that I think of it, this version will be even more like George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead since there weren't floods of zombies in that movie.

Anyone realize where they got the name? Look at the back of the 360 version's box. lol
