D2CKey's FlexPCB tool released - Image 1For the guys who've been itching to try Japan titles that are restricted by their Wii console's region locking, there's always the prospect of installing a modchip.

And for those tuning in just recently, this may mean picking up the D2CKey, a chip that's reportedly been successful in working with the newer line of Wiis that are in circulation.

Performance aside, however, D2CKey's biggest technical flaw appears to be its excessive use of wires just to hook it up to the Wii. Even the chip's developers have gotten wind of this problem, as they release the FlexPCB for general use as.

This tool is stated to help streamline the installation process for the D2CKey modchip. As the modchip team reiterates, however, installation is still best left up to a trained professional. The FlexPCB has to be purchased separately, although a price is yet to be announced.
