Black Wiimote - Image 1Nintendo has announced a date for the US release of their black Wiimote and Nunchuk combo. Prices too. Soon Wii owners in the US can at least add a splash of (non-)color to their Wiis without having to go the modding route.

Everlast - Image 1There's still a lot of doubt about fitness games on the Wii actually making anyone fit, but Everlast seems to think that they could make sure that you do, at least a little bit. For that, they're gonna turn your Wiimotes and Nunchuks into your very own Wii dumbells. Can't quite picture it? Hit the jump and see for yourself.

Wii horseback controller - Image 1Those who think that the Wii Vitality Sensor is a pretty strange peripheral to have for video games probably haven't heard of the horseback riding peripheral. It's basically an inflatable with a pocket to affix the Wiimote in, and the player would have to ride (and yes, bounce on) it to get it to work. Getting the picture yet? Yeah, I laughed too.

DJ Hero - Image 1Via press release, Activision has officially announced three new games in the Guitar Hero franchise. Not all that surprising, really, since one of them was pretty much confirmed months ago (though not by way of press release), and the other - the fifth installment - was to be expected eventually. Coming out this fall already: DJ Hero, Guitar Hero 5, and Band Hero. We even got pics of the turntable controller!

Beatles Rock Band - Image 1Jai guru deva om - nothing's gonna change your world... unless you're planning to ditch your current Rock Band controllers for the Beatles edition. The Beatles-customed guitar controllers to be released alongside The Beatles: Rock Band for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii have been revealed. Whether you're a Beatles fan or not, it's quite hard to deny that these guitars are damn sexy. (Re-)introducing: the Rickenbacker 325 and Gretsch Duo Jet!

Wii MotionPlus - Image 1The seven-week gap between the launch of the standalone Wii MotionPlus accessory and the first MotionPlus-supported Nintendo game, Wii Sports Resort, has resulted in a bit of speculation regarding the addition of MotionPlus support to existing Wii games. Sadly, that's not gonna be the case.

Punch Out!! - Image 1Nintendo Italy has revealed their upcoming WIi game Punch Out!! will be featuring the Balance Board support. Seeing as how Punch Out!!! is an arcade boxing title originally from the NES and SNES, having this new peripheral should be interesting, to say the least. Details and screenshots after the jump.

Ben Hecks - Image 1Well if you don't have strong legs to kick out a beat on Guitar Hero's drum pedals, Ben Heckendorn (Ben Hecks) has another mod to make life easier for you. Taking a GH: World Tour drum kit's kick pedal, he modified it into something that allows you to simply blow on a tube to register bass kicks. He did this mod as a request from someone who uses a wheelchair.

MotionPlusThere's been some rumors and whispers lately that Nintendo might be upgrading the built-in motion-sensing technology for Wiimotes - an internal MotionPlus accessory, so to speak.

They've denied it though, dismissing reports as "purely rumor and speculation."

Lawsuit Against Nintendo - Image 1This is just getting ridiculous. Yet another company is suing Nintendo for its Wiimote tech. The lawsuit claims that the Wiimote is violating their patent for a video game controller.

Is suing Nintendo the "in" thing now?
