It should be remembered that San Francisco-based non-government organization Common Sense Media recently released an advisory regarding the impending launch of Manhunt 2 (Nintendo Wii, PSP) in the United States. The group is calling all parents to boycott what it refers to as the "most violent and gruesome video game ever produced for a mass market." Common Sense believes that parents, educators, and other consumers would benefit from knowing what specific parts of the game were edited or removed to get the rating reduced, but information about the re-rating process has been very limited... Given that the edited version of the game has been rated M in the U.S.
yet banned in the U.K., as well as the fact that an apparently unedited
version of the game is available to download online, Common Sense wants
to make sure that parents, educators and all potential consumers know
that this game should be kept out of the hands of all children and teens. |

All of this makes me only want to buy the game more, it's the forbidden fruit.
"Buy: [ Manhunt 2 (PSP) ]
Buy: [ Manhunt 2 (Wii) ]"
^^ HAHAHAHAHA! Nice QJ.
QJ that is not a very nice move ^^
Total in the contrary of what the original article wanted.
These people should be attacked by terrorists.
That way, everyone is happy.
The terrorists successfully bombed something, and we are happy too.
They should also attack Green Peace.
Maybe your family / girlfriend / boyfriend should suffer in a terrorist attack so that you learn the meaning of terror.
No. I dont wich anything bad to them but i see only one morron here.
Real life violence will only prove to these groups that these games can cause violence. Remember that.
This game is gross! It's sickening! You are stupid, Rockstar!
I'm tired of this activist group dragging my good name through the mud.
What's the point really? Aren't overly concerned parents already stopping their kids from buying M rated games?
All they do is try to take away rights from others, which has happened several times in the past. Such groups are nothing, but a joke in my honest opinion. If parents are easily offended by such material, they shouldn't make others suffer.
This is one of the reasons why the freedom of choice is vanishing (yet another opinion of mine). Spent my two cents.
forget. you should just remove "Send News Tips"
This game looks disgusting, disturbing and sickening... I WANT IT! Has anyone here successfully downloaded it yet?
I'm just curious, since parents "shouldn't" buy this game for their children, how is this really a true boycott? Isn't a boycott when you totally don't want the product in the marketplace, yet they say it's because children shouldn't play it? Doesn't really make sense to me, but I think that is what these groups try to do sometimes is create confusion. The only problem with this senario, is that sometimes it can actually increase sales. If they really wanted to keep this game from being successful, they should have just tried to cause a media blackout instead.
What exactly are they boycotting? Parent's buying an adult rated game for their children?
er....
How about instead of demonstrating a total lack of COMMON SENSE and drawing attention to the most irresponsible game to ever exist (sorry but i do think manhunt is a PoS), they actually use some COMMON SENSE and educate dip***** parents who would otherwise buy any adult game for their children, about what the ratings mean!?
Idiots.
Even though I disagree that Manhunt is the more "irresponsible" game ever, I do agree that these groups should pay less attention to one instance (Manhunt), and focus more on education. It is "common sense" that education goes a lot further than "banning".
