This is one intervention you wouldn't want staged on you. You know how there are now rehab centers for gaming addicts? Well, China's got those too, and you'd be terrified to land in there if you were the patient. As it turns out, a certain clinic in Linyi, Shandong province administers electro shock therapy for Internet addicts. Don't worry, though, the Ministry of Health has already ordered a halt to it.
Said the report: Kong Lingzhong, editor for a local Internet addiction-themed portal said to Beijing News, "We have no clue whether this freaky treatment has side effects." Yeah, we're guessing they do. Related Articles:

That'll teach them *****ers to stay out of Dr. Yang's *****ing chair god dammit.
I agree that there are some people that could go as far as needing electroshock therapy, that dude in the WoW freak-out video is one of them.

» I disagree
Even the person noted in that video, I wouldnt say deserves electroshock therapy. Does he need professional help? of course, perhaps some meds. But honestly, what some people dont understand, is that many people play games, or even go on the internet, because they are bored and theres nothing to do. If people arent doing things like this, then what is the alternative? going out partying, perhaps drinking? In that respect, I dont feel this is yet an "addiction" as this article appears to intend to treat. In a way, it can possibly better a persons life as they choose to focus on something like this to entertain themselves rather then going out getting into trouble. Just my opinion.

I want chair as convertible as Dr. Yang's. You know it's gotta be a great *****ing chair when people risk electroshock's just to have a sit in it.
