still waiting for the PSP version.....due q4 this year?! long time.......but i'm not really a spiderman fan (i kinda h8 it).
Honestly I think an average rating of 73 percent is generous.
Did anyone enjoy this game?
I haven't played this game yet, but I gotta say that reviewers don't always get it right. Reviewers are a specific batch of people. There have been occassions when a game has gotten really crappy reviews but I liked it anyway.
For example Rune. I felt Rune was worth it just for the multiplayer, but gamespot only gave it a 6.7. I spent many weeks online having fun chopping people's arms off and beating them with them, sword fighting, and using my weapon's rune powers to crush my enemies.
BUY ATVI
same with the films the 3rd was still good but just not as good as the previous ones even with venom(the coolest creation ever). I havent played the wii version why does it suck more then the other versions????
... well 73% aint bad, thats like above average right? I remember a time when game reviews actually spotted through only the graphics and gave games the mark they deserved. I'd say this game probably actually deserves around 50% - 60% anyways... not great, just average. I played it for about 10 minutes... :)
... gamespot gave it 4.7 / 10 on the ps2!
In a time when *****ty games get like over 90% just cos the reviewers get money on the side... and good games get crap ratings.... best person to trust is no other than yourself ;)
Reviewers not only get paid to try the games out, but they get the games for free. Their reviews are totally subjective and can't possibly reflect the attitude they would have if they had to pay for the games.
Plus, the higher they score a game, the more likely it is that the game's maker will send them a greater number of games for review. It's a pay-for-play scheme - boost our numbers and we'll give you prizes!
I know that Gamespot purchases final review copies, though of course publishers may send or demo "in progress" builds of games.
What a disturbing thing to say.
Shareholders care about sales or, more specifically, profitability. Quality is one route to achieving profitability, and churning out licensed shovelware is another. This is in no way novel or at all surprising.
I cant believe this people didn't like the game, I have the PC versoin and the graphics are AMAZING!! they bet Spidey 2 graphics in any way, the map of the city is amazing as well. The graphics and physhics are to detailed.
You can even zoom in and out the Map and see the actual 3D of the city and the lighiting all over it and the shadows.
IF YOU READ THIS reviewers.. GO *****ING LEARN about graphics and physics and how they improved the game.
What can we expect for this fat asses that ALl they do is see the game's pictures. THey are writters THEY are not gamers.. They dont KNOW how to RATE a game.
Im a level designer and I create levels and design sketches for games and the reviewers are way OFF.
So people dont believe those *****ers.
there's more to judging the quality of the game than the graphics. You say you're a level designer, would you be proud of the work you had done if you were the person who designed the interior levels in this game?
Swinging around the city is a blast, granted, but so much else about the game was just sloppy and undercooked.
While the reviews and reviews should always be takin with a grain of salt read the core complaints.
Graphics, Clipping, Draw distance.
these are basic problems that should never be allowed to leave the programers. At best every game on the nintendo wii should be (Graphicly) as good or better than the recent releases on the PS2. Seeing as how (No matter how many say otherwise) the Wii has the power to produce better looking games than all three last gen platforms games with these problems should make a company loose money.
You have to loose before you gain. We as gamers should not allow games like these to gain any profit. It was a slacker move on their part and they are getting what they deserve.
Everything else on the game read great, the controlls, gameplay, map size . . . great. But that all means squat if the game looks like it is running on a system from back in 94-96.
I'm with you that Wii graphics can be a lot better than this game is showing, but if it's a fun game (I'll find out when I rent it from Gamefly), I personally won't care too much. But that's just me.
When did we start feeling that a game had to be as good as a 10 to get bought? What started this mentality?
I remember when a game got a 5 or a 6 and it was okay because that just meant that it was an average game and that it wasn't anything spectacular but if it WAS spectacular it would get +1 point for everything that seperated it from the rest....
Reviewers these days are reviewing games based on a "must buy" mentality. The game starts at 10 and they are to find "negative flaws" to draw the game as close to a 0 as possible.
Why can't gaming be like how the justice system is (Supposed to be) run? Innocent until proven guilty? As far as I'm concerned, the SNES/Genesis era was the best because even if the game scored a 6 you knew it was solid but a 9 would be a OMG!!!!1
I hear people at EBGameStop all the time saying "I won't reserve anything until I see the reviews"... What the hell are you saying? Are you telling me that if Halo 3 was rated 8 out of 10 you wouldn't buy it???? STFU is what I say....
well they would've made a lot more money if the game isn't total crap, I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one who was interested in buying before it came out and after seeing the problems in a couple of reviews, ended up not buying
i don't know about you guys, but i read reviews not just for the number ratings but to know more about the game before i land 60 bucks
^well a lot of people bought this game because it was so well promoted(hype)
come on, I KNOW I'm not alone in thinking theres a lot of crappy games out there
for me, seeing the screenshot of the bridge being cut off by draw distance with no effects to cover up the draw distance just turned me off, how the f* am i supposed to swing around when i can't see where i'm going + the buildings turn into giant blocks, what the hell is that
innocent until proven guilty, wtf is that bs
hmmm this sushi got some mold on it, but i'll take the chef's word on it when he says its fresh
go ahead and eat moldy crap while the rest of us, the normal well-informed people, let you be our lab rats
