Baseball - Image 1Activision has entered the diamond and stepped up to the plate. Yup, they're coming up with their own baseball sim this year, but what they'll put out may not be what you're expecting.

The publisher has announced that Little League World Series 2008  will be released on August 5, 2008 for the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo Wii. The game will feature eight international and eight American teams.

Not a lot of details have been revealed, but it's easy to see that the developers will be taking full advantage of the innovative control systems of the Nintendo platforms. Pitching, batting, catching, and more are all skills that are waiting to be mastered.

It looks like we'll be seeing a kiddie-fied version of the great American pastime soon. Nice way to steer clear of the issues surrounding the pro leagues these days while retaining the sport's essence.
