For so long now, it's been rumored about. Everyone keeps talking about it "yeah, so there's this new DJ Hero spinoff supposedly in the works, yada yada yada," but ever since, nothing has been officially confirmed by Activision Blizzard. That changes now, care of ActiBliz boss Robert Kotick. It looks like he slipped his tongue too, because it was one of the last things he mentioned (nonchalantly, at that) in a long interview with CNBC. As a parting question, one of the reports asks how ActiBliz is handling the changing demands of the consumers and how they cope with trying to deliver more creative games. Kotick's answer: We have this product called DJ Hero coming out later this year which is a turntable that you can actually play competitively, spin discs, and mix songs on. This physical interface is definitely starting to have a real impact on the consumer. Online is creating a much more social experience than videogames have had before. You're continuing to see lots of innovation that's adding lots of new audiences. You can check out the full interview through the Via link below. In it, Robert Kotick talks much about the current situation in the game industry, what with the recession closing in and sales are going down. Related articles: |

i want Virtual DJ to be ported to the PS3 or psp and have a peripheral that can function just like what the picture above can do (usb midi dj controller ala vestax vci 100 or pioneer cdj-400 or better yet pioneer sep-c1). ill gladly pay 100-150 bucks for the set.
the ps2 has a similar dj product but has no external dj controller and not much support, heck only few people knew about dj beats and fx for ps2.

Hip Hop Hero and Rap Band for fans of Hip Hop and Rap. I think with enough thought, this could work. Of course the player would have to choose wether to be the emcee or apart of the band with rap band (The Roots, Linkin Park, Jurassic 5, Fugees, Kid Rock, and Gorillaz to name a few)
Hip Hop Hero would have mics and a program board that resembles the SP 12 or the MPC. You can put your own music to the game along with hundreds of our favorite hip hop acts. After it comes out maybe about a month later a old school rap pack could be released with about 15 to 20 old school jams. Just a thought. Doesn't seem like a bad idea. But here comes the hate...

I would hardly call linkin park a rap band, i can only think of one of their songs that is even mildly rappish, and even that's a stretch
