Ó

We just posted an article about the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (for the Wii) November 1 videos at us.Wii.com. Have you tried watching them? As you know, so many people have been going nuts about these videos all day - so the us.Wii.com videos are still loading a bit slowly (and it seems their server crashedearlier because of the stampede of Zelda fans).

So, if you're on a slow connection or if you're too impatient to wait for the us.Wii.com videos to load, here are the YouTube videos. And in case us.Wii.com crashes again (because "Link is so hot," says QJ blogger Karen R.), well, at least we have these here.

Shigeru Miyamoto has not lost his touch. And the director, Eiji Aonuma, should be praised. Yoshiyuki Oyama handled character design, and we must say, it all looks impressive.

Personally, I'm impressed by the bloom. The light makes a world of difference. I know that makes me sound like such an easily-impressed noob, but... You know how anti-Wii people ridicule the Wii for lacking power because it's "just a barely-souped-up GameCube." But this game looks next-gen. Just look at it.

And here are the release dates (Wii version): November 19 for the US, December 2 for Japan, December 7 for Australia, and December 8 for Europe. In general, the GameCube versions won't be out until the middle of December.

Update: We have the seven videos from Nintendo Japan featuring snippets from the game. These are just really short snippets. They're not anything to stampede about. So, all you "Link is so hot" people, try not to crash Nintendo Japan over these.

no this game did it first

Re: just the messenger (Unregistered) - 2006-11-02
 » not really...

I wouldn't call this a ripoff seeing as the game Zelda: Twlight princess was announced right before Okami. However, it was right around the same time in the spring of 2004 (way back when Nintendo said Zelda would be making a 2005 release, LOL). Besides if you hate the idea of being a wolf that much then go out and buy Okami while the other couple million or so of us laugh at how stubborn you actually are and can't accept that you won't be a wolf throughout the entire game. Hopefully the wolf gameplay will be no more than 30% of the overall experience. But regardless, I thought this seemed a bit like Okami when I first watched this video as well but this is Nintendo we're talking about here, and if they are copying off of Okami at all (which they arn't) then at least they're copying a successful one at that.

isnt it funny that the guy who "hates" this game is the first to post??? whos the fan boy now....

 » copy?

Nobody is copying anything. Other wise every rpg or fps is copying the first game with a sword or a gun. So stop ur b-tching blc, plus Wolf Link doesnt run around with a gay paint brush

 » Who cares

Who cares which game had it first? No one gives two *****s about Zelda anyway. It's a fanboy game.

Re: just the messenger (Unregistered) - 2006-11-02
 » thats interesting...

Seeing as how The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the not so loved N64 still sold... oh somewhere around 8.6 million. But what do these people know right?
Let me mention that's more copies sold than Metal Gear Solid 2, Goldeneye, Super Smash Bros, or any Madden ever released. So to say nobody cares? Maybe you don't and that's fine... but don't speak for everyone when your a just another sad fanboy.

 » fanboys only

Ocarina of Time was released like 8 years ago (and it was just as overrated then as it is now.) Serious hardcore gamers do not care about Zelda, only baby Nintendo fanboys do. Which games did Wind Waker outsell? Zelda is irrelevant today to all but the most pathetic fanboys.

 » ??!

I'm not a fan boy and I think Zelda is kinda cool... I've never finished any of them except Link's Awakening (LOL) but it's definitely not only for kids and fan boys. Wind Waker was incredible artistically in my opinion.

Dude, dont u realize that ur just another lemming in line to get ***-rammed by Sony? Hate to break it to you, but the PS3 is...PS2 with better graphics!! wow, thats amazing! i mean wow, cuz all that matters is what it looks like right? as long as it looks real, it can be about anything and its a good game i guess, cuz thats what PS3 games are. Oh, and they have no fanboy games for Sony, cuz they never have sequels to games....cough*Final fantasy*. Yeah just get in line and do what ur so-called "hardcore" gamer buddies who have no lives and get the PS3 cuz hey, u have no girl to spend the 600 bucks on right? why not blow it on a PS2 with better graphics and the same exact games as PS2. Get a life and get the hell off the Wii message board, donkey show!

 » too bad for you

Its great that you don't like Zelda games, because that way there are more for all of the rest of the world to enjoy.
Keep in mind that each major company: Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft, all have there own series that is regarded by all as great games. Nintendo has Zelda, Sony has Metal Gear Solid/Final Fantasy, and Microsoft has Halo. Only extremely stubborn fanboys of rival systems don't enjoy those games that are on other systems.
Its also kind of funny that sony doesn't actually own the companies that make their two most successful franchises, but I guess both were already too large when they started developing for Sony, and would have cost too much to buy out.

   Re: fanboyXL (Unregistered) - 2006-11-02
 » i love sony

Sony does have God of War and...
Daxter and Jak? or is it Ratchet and Clank?
oh i know Gran Turismo!!!
the greastest racing game ever! just like all 9 million of the other ones out there...
which is cool if your under 16 and can't drive.

Sony has yet to develop anything that really they can claim. But then again with a company like Nintendo you can have to many franchises and make it hard for 3rd parties to really compete.

   Re: blah (Unregistered) - 2006-11-03
 » MGS

Sony doesnt really have MGS since Nintendo had it first and is still using it as you can see in SSBB. Same thing with Final Fantasy. Pretty much Sony has no original first-party games whatsoever

 »  fanboys only.. ha

I am a fan of Microsoft (not a fanboy, just like it the more i guess lol..) But I would have to say if you are a hardcore gamer and you hate zelda... well that says a lot. You are not a hardcore gamer... Its like saying Sonic, Mario, Crash, Solid snake are worthless and should not be played. You are a stupid young kid and will never know any better ralph.

 » I agree with Yo-Yo

You cannot possibly call yourself a "hardcore gamer" and then go on to say you hate a game like Zelda. It's games like Zelda that the hardcore gamers live for, the epitome of a video game.

I think what Ralph is trying to say is: "I'm a hardcore gamer in the sense that I only play bloody rated M games that make me look cool around my friends. Of course, my mom still has to buy them for me. Another 7 years baby, then it will be me up there buying those hardcore games to feed my violent and amazingly immature appetite."
Not trying to bash Rated M games, it's just the vibe I'm getting from little Ralph over here.
A real "hardcore" gamer likes all types of games, on all of the systems (not to mention the classic systems as well). A real "hardcore" gamer is unbiased towards the game before he or she plays it.

Man this game is going to be amazing, i love the music the i think the 5th video. Its like a classic western movie, i just hope the wii controls work well enough to not bring the expierence down. not that is really matters the Gc one is out like dec 12 with standard controls just in case.

   Re: Me (Unregistered) - 2006-11-03
 » or....

or you could buy the wii one and use your game cube controller....the wii does have spots for the gc controller right? and if not get the "classic controller"

» i luv zelda more than anyone!

i remeber when i was in my little junior school and i was talking to my friend, he was talking about a game called the legend of zelda ocarina of time. i thought i would go and buy so i did. i started to play and as i was young i got stuck within an hour and gave up. about 2 years later i thought i would give it another try and i completed the first dungeon and then the story started to reveal itself, next thing i knew i was hooked on the wonderful storyline and eversince i completed that game i was yearning for another like it, and yes windwaker was good but it was totally diffrent experience. aslo the time limit on majora mask put me off. now seeing this i am starting to rember those magical moments. this is looking to be that wonderful zelda game i have been waiting for.
